Activity Level: Relaxed
Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
Our adventure begins in Reykjavík, heading south toward some of Iceland's most famous and memorable sites. Enjoy scenic country landscapes with the chance to see two legendary volcanoes, Eyjafjallajökull and Hekla, along the way. First we stop at the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where we have the unique opportunity to walk behind the fall's cascading water. Next, we pass by the Skógafoss waterfall, where beautiful rainbows and views are commonplace around the 60m fall. Wander the black-sand beach of Reynisfjara, exploring the magnificent basalt column cave and marveling at the Reynisdrangar basalt rising boldly from the waves. After a full morning of exploration we will stop for lunch in the coastal community of Vík before continuing onward toward our country hotel. If the forecast is suitable during the early and late season, this area is ideal to see the northern lights.
Today we set out early for the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, known as one of nature's most surreal wonders. Here you will see icebergs broken free from the retreating Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, floating in a slow, methodical procession towards the Atlantic. In the summer you can take a boat trip between these blue and white ice giants (pre-booking for the boat tour is highly recommended). Head to the nearby Diamond Beach, where the icebergs come to rest, creating a dramatic image on this black-sand beach. This beach is no stranger to fame, and is the location for several James Bond and Game of Thrones scenes!
Our next adventure takes us into the magical world of a natural ice cave. This journey is a once in a lifetime experience, and we will have the opportunity to explore and learn about the mesmerizing blue light and glacial formations from an experienced guide. If the ice cave is inaccessible we will do a glacier hike instead.
Tonight we return to the capital, Reykjavik.
Day 3: Golden Circle and & Secret Lagoon
1 Breakfast
Rise early for an exciting day of exploration and natural beauty. Today we visit the Golden Circle, widely known as Iceland's most popular sightseeing route. First, we arrive at the memorable Þingvellir National Park (Thingvellir), a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized for its fascinating history and unique geological features. In 930AD the Icelandic Parliament first met within the boundaries of Þingvellir, and today this parliament holds the distinction of being the oldest continually operating government in the world.
We soon arrive at the powerful Gullfoss waterfall. Located at the base of the thunderous Hvítá river, the waterfall drops 32m over two mighty stages. Enjoy this natural wonder before continuing on to the Geyser geothermal area. Explore the now inactive Great Geysir before standing in awe near Strokkur, which erupts every 5-10 minutes and reaches a height up to 40 m.
After a full day of adventure we head for the tranquility of the Secret Lagoon. Resting on the edge of the geothermal village of Flúðir, this large lagoon is completely surrounded by nature. If you didn't get enough geyser action at the Great Geyser, there is a small geyser located beside the pool!
After a full three days we return to Reykjavík at around 18:00 (6PM) and say our goodbyes.

This was my first experience with Adventure Life - and I couldn't have been more pleased with the trip. The guides and local staff in both Buenos Aires and Uruguay were terrific - extremely helpful and accommodating. I really enjoyed meeting the friendly staff in Buenos Aires in person (I left my bags with them for the afternoon).

The response from Adventure Life to my first inquiry was prompt and promising. I worked with Jamie Broeckel, Trip Planner, via text, email, and phone calls- always extremely responsive and thorough with information and explaining the process to arrange a private tour for me to Malaysia Borneo. Within about week, the booking was complete and I made decisions because of Jamie's great customer service , friendly manner, and overall competence on behalf of the company's travel expertise. Now I have an itinerary, additional Trip Planner Assistants, several links for vital information for traveling to Maylasia, etc. Still many details for Sept. trip, but now the heavy lifting is done and I can enjoy the rest of the anticipation and research!! Thanks Jamie- you are amazing!!!!

The trip was not only memorable for the amount of animals we saw but also for the people and accommodations at the two camps where we stayed. Our first guide, BK, was a wealth of information about the animals, landscape and down to the plants and what they were used for. Everyday out was a learning experience with him. All the people at the camps were gracious and the food was excellent.
Our second camp in the Okavanga was just as good as the first as far as the staff, accommodations, food and animals. After our experience at the first camp we amazed that the high quality remained the same. Our guide, G, made sure we were able to enjoy every experience including a rush through the bush to witness a cheetah and an ensuing hunt that he heard over his radio.
In both camps there were enough guides out that if they saw something the other guides were informed which helped in seeing as much as possible. It was also nice that the concessions were large enough that we did not have vehicles following each other throughout the day.
Normally there is always something in a trip of this length that we think could be improved upon but this is the rare case where we cannot think of anything. From the time we left the States to when we returned it was one of the most hassle free vacations we took.
Perhaps emphasizing the use of the laundry facilities at the camps would be useful because of the luggage restrictions would be the only thing I can think of as an improvement to future clients.
