HOME » Chile Travel » Campo Aventura

This is our primary hotel choice in this location, though availability is not guaranteed. If a given hotel is not available for your tour date, we will reserve you a room at a hotel of similar appeal and quality in the same area.

Campo Aventura

Campo AventuraCampo Aventura is located in the unspoiled wilds of northern Chile's Selva Cochamo. Of this million-plus-acre wilderness, only around ten percent has been cultivated or even explored, and there are only 30 miles of roads. Because of the remoteness of the region, the environment has changed little over the millennia. Amidst the labyrinth of waterfalls and rivers, small trails connect rustic farms in the foothills of the Andes. The friendly farmers, still ride horses and transport their produce on packhorses and oxcarts, just as their ancestors did.

Campo Aventura is nestled in the scenic vallye of the Cochamo River, and is owned by Clark Stede (German) and Manuela Paradeiser (Austrian), who operate the region's only on-site eco-tourism company. Guides at Campo Aventura's two camps speak German and English. At both camps you will find warm, dry beds, hot showers, meals cooked with local farm products, contact with the locals, and Gaucho guides.

Riverside Lodge (Campo Aventura)

Riverside lodgeThe riverside lodge is a unique place to spend several days, designed to give guests total comfort whilst preserving the natural beauty of the environment. Relax and stay while -enjoy a taste of homemade organic cookery from breakfast to dinner. All meals are prepared with local produce. Guests rave about our vegetarian cuisine and excellent fish dishes! Fly-fishing is available and we also have hammocks to hang out in, a sauna, and riverside beach to enjoy.

Mountain Lodge (Outback Camp)

Mountain LodgeSleeping is dormitory style, with hot showers powered by a wood fire. At the Lodge there are over 64 kilometeres of nature trails set in the middle of untouched rainforest with many examples of rare vegetation. Enjoy waterfalls, watch birds like the Andean Condor and try out excellent fishing possibilities on the lodge's 80+ hectares. For dinner you might try the lamb or fish asados (BBQ) prepared on the open fire.
