Sail two rivers of Spain and Portugal on this fascinating 8-day river cruise. This voyage sails on the Guadalquivir and Guadiana Rivers and introduces you to Seville, Cadiz, Isla Minima, Granada and Cordoba. Get off the ship for daily land excursions, and sail by fabulous landscapes and villages that time has forgotten.
Highlights
Arrive in Cadiz and join an excursion to an evening of flamenco
Discover Jerez and visit a "ganaderĂa" (a property where bulls are raised)
Explore El Puerto de Santa Maria and tour the Osborne cellar
Visit a genuine Andalusian hacienda, located on the Guadalquivir banks
Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
Board the MS La Belle de Cadix starting at 5 PM. Settle into your cabin and attend a welcome cocktail hour to introduce yourself to the ship and her crew. Dine on board before going ashore to enjoy a free evening in Seville, if you wish. The ship remains in port overnight.
Enjoy breakfast on board before participating in a guided tour of Seville. The city of Seville is truly a bewitching astistic and cultural city. Set off to explore the cathedral, the Alcazar palace (which is closed on Mondays) and its Andalusian gardens, the Maria Luisa Park, and the captivating Santa Cruz district. Return to the ship around 1 PM. Sail for Cadiz, along the great river Guadalquivir, as you eat lunch and pass Donana Park and Sanlucar de Barrameda. Arrive in Cadiz in the evening and join an excursion to an evening of flamenco in Cadiz.
After breakfast, join an excursion to Jerez and visit a "ganadería" (a property where bulls are raised). Have the chance to learn about this living symbol of Spanish culture. In the afternoon enjoy an excursion to Cadiz and its cathedral. Get back on the ship for an evening of entertainment as you cruise to Alcoutim.
Relax and enjoy breakfast as you continue to cruise along the Guadiana, sailing up river to Alcoutim and arriving around 10:30 AM. Pass by fabulous landscapes and villages that time has forgotten. Explore the town during some free time before returning to the ship for lunch. Depart for Vila Réal de St Antonio, arriving around 3:00 PM. Explore Vila Réal or join an optional excursion to Faro, capital city of the Algarve. Get back on the ship for an evening of a Fado show. Start cruising in the evening towards El Puerto de Santa Maria.
Early in the morning, arrive at El Puerto de Santa Maria. With your accompanist, tour the Osborne cellar and taste the local wines. In the afternoon, cruise to Isla Minima. Pass through Doñana National Park, designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and a Biosphere Reserve, and the city of Sanlucar de Barrameda, where the river joins the Atlantic Ocean. Set off on a tour of a genuine Andalusian hacienda, located on the banks of the Guadalquivir followed by an equestrian show. Return on board and cruise to Seville.
Spend the day exploring Granada. Set against the impressive Sierra Nevada mountain range, Granada is built on the slopes of three hills: the Albaicin the Sacromonte and the Alhambra. This grandoise and verdant site owes its prestige to its Morrish monumets, especially the Alhambra, a palace straight out of the 1001 Nights and to the Generalife, a pleasure palace with attached romantic gardens. Get back on the ship for an evening of entertainment on board.
After breakfast on board, spend the day on a guided tour of Cordoba. Leave by coach during the morning and discover the Mosque-Cathedral, a veritable forest of 856 columns adorned with jasper, granite and marble; and visit the historic Juderia, the former Jewish quarter. Return to the ship in Seville and enjoy your gala evening.

This was my first experience with Adventure Life - and I couldn't have been more pleased with the trip. The guides and local staff in both Buenos Aires and Uruguay were terrific - extremely helpful and accommodating. I really enjoyed meeting the friendly staff in Buenos Aires in person (I left my bags with them for the afternoon).

The response from Adventure Life to my first inquiry was prompt and promising. I worked with Jamie Broeckel, Trip Planner, via text, email, and phone calls- always extremely responsive and thorough with information and explaining the process to arrange a private tour for me to Malaysia Borneo. Within about week, the booking was complete and I made decisions because of Jamie's great customer service , friendly manner, and overall competence on behalf of the company's travel expertise. Now I have an itinerary, additional Trip Planner Assistants, several links for vital information for traveling to Maylasia, etc. Still many details for Sept. trip, but now the heavy lifting is done and I can enjoy the rest of the anticipation and research!! Thanks Jamie- you are amazing!!!!

The trip was not only memorable for the amount of animals we saw but also for the people and accommodations at the two camps where we stayed. Our first guide, BK, was a wealth of information about the animals, landscape and down to the plants and what they were used for. Everyday out was a learning experience with him. All the people at the camps were gracious and the food was excellent.
Our second camp in the Okavanga was just as good as the first as far as the staff, accommodations, food and animals. After our experience at the first camp we amazed that the high quality remained the same. Our guide, G, made sure we were able to enjoy every experience including a rush through the bush to witness a cheetah and an ensuing hunt that he heard over his radio.
In both camps there were enough guides out that if they saw something the other guides were informed which helped in seeing as much as possible. It was also nice that the concessions were large enough that we did not have vehicles following each other throughout the day.
Normally there is always something in a trip of this length that we think could be improved upon but this is the rare case where we cannot think of anything. From the time we left the States to when we returned it was one of the most hassle free vacations we took.
Perhaps emphasizing the use of the laundry facilities at the camps would be useful because of the luggage restrictions would be the only thing I can think of as an improvement to future clients.
