In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of the key sights of Mandalay, regarded as the center of Burmese culture and Buddhist learning. The tour will include a visit to Mahamuni Temple, one of the three holiest places in Myanmar. Before returning to the ship, admire sunset over the river at U Bein's Bridge, reported to be the longest teak bridge in the world.
Enjoy a cocktail on the top deck to meet The Road To Mandalay Officers and fellow passengers before your first dinner in the Restaurant. A Burmese tribal costume show will provide tonight's entertainment.
Enjoy a BBQ picnic lunch under the shade of the Ko Ko trees on Lake Kandawgyi before continuing with a guided tour of Sagaing, with visits to a nunnery lead by an 80 year old nun, a local silversmith and Soon U Pon Nya Shin Pagoda. Return to The Road To Mandalay in time for sunset on Top Deck. A Myanmar wine presentation will take place prior to dinner on board, followed by an Acrobatic show on the Top Deck.
Return to the ship for lunch and set sail for Bagan once more. The rest of the day is spent relaxing on board, observing the fascinating local river life glide by from the top deck. Enjoy a local Tanaka and longyi presentation, followed by a delightful afternoon tea ceremony available on the top deck and piano bar late afternoon. There will also be the opportunity to listen to a guest speaker on "Myanmar throughout the ages" in the observation lounge.
A New Years Eve cocktail party on the top deck will start the evening's celebrations, followed by Chef's special New Year dinner party feast in the Restaurant. The celebrations continue with a live band on the top deck and a champagne countdown to Midnight with some traditional Burmese surprises to welcome in the New Year.

Today you can choose your preferred activities and sightseeing. You might take the journey to Mount Popa, an extinct volcano and the spiritual home of animist gods known as nats. Or join the bike tour and find yourself cycling through pagoda-studded fields and local villages, stopping for a relaxing lunch at a colonial style restaurant overlooking the Ayeyarwady River. Alternatively, you may wish to discover the Myanmarian way of life by horse cart. As the sun sets, enjoy a cocktail on the river bank and a traditional Elephant Dance before returning to the ship for dinner. This evening there will be an art exhibition in the Observation Lounge showcasing tribal crafts.
Mid-morning, as the ship continues towards Mandalay, relax on the top deck with a luxurious spa treatment or simply watch the fascinating river life glide by. After lunch on the top deck, take a tour of the kitchen and engine room. Afternoon tea in the piano bar can be followed by a talk on Buddhism by the onboard guide.
A New Year’s Eve cocktail party kicks off the evening's celebrations, followed by a special buffet dinner. A live band provides entertainment on the top deck. The Champagne countdown to midnight includes some traditional Myanmarian surprises to ring in the New Year.
