Our Uruguay trip explores the shores of the Rio Plata and Atlantic Ocean with visits to Punta del Este, La Paloma and Punta del Diablo. Relax in comfortable beachfront lodges with ample time for horseback riding or simply relaxing at the beach.

Day 1

Arrive Punta del Este

Arrive today in Punta Del Este where you will be met and transferred to the coastal town of Jose Ignacio. Settle in this evening as you watch the sunset on the water.

Day 2

Explore Punta del Este

Discover the beach destination of Punta del Este today with a guided city tour. Visit Punta del Este's most important attractions such as Juan Gorlero, the port, and the residential areas of San Rafael, Rincon del Indio and Cantegril. You will also visit the Indigenous Park and complete the tour with a visit to the Casapueblo Museum, the former home of Uruguayan artist Carlos Paez Vilaro, from where you can enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets in all of Uruguay.

Day 3

Canoeing and Biking the Rocha Region

After a leisurely morning, you are picked up for a drive to the Rocha Lagoon. This spot is well known for its bird watching opportunities and is a protected area. Canoe across the lagoon while keeping your eyes peeled for wildlife. On the other side of the lagoon, enjoy a picnic lunch before heading out on bikes towards the city of La Paloma, where you will spend the evening.

Day 4

Cabo Polonio Sanddune Trekking

After breakfast, a private transfer will take you to the small fishing village of Valizas. Enjoy a short tour of the area before you head to the Uruguayan desert. Climb the sand dunes and attempt to make it to the highest point of the "Cerro de la Buena Vista". From here you will have stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding dunes and neighboring wetlands. Next hike to the small village of Cabo Polonio where you will enjoy lunch while you watch the sea lions sprawling on nearby rocks. Return to your hotel in La Paloma for the evening.

Day 5

Punta del Diablo | Visit Karumbé Green Turtle Center

This morning head farther east towards the Brazilian border to the Punta del Diablo Region. Trek along the beach towards Cerro Verde, the “Green Hill” located in the middle of the beach which allows you to see beautiful views of the Atlantic coastline. Visit Karumbé, a local organization dedicated to the preservation of the Green Turtle. You can even give Karumbé a hand with today´s activities. In the afternoon transfer back to the small seaside village of Punta del Diablo and relax at beachfront accommodations for the evening.

Day 6

Free day in Punta del Diablo

Today is a free to enjoy the village of Punta del Diablo. You can take a stroll through town, go for a swim, walk along the beach or just relax and take in the ocean breeze.

Day 7


After breakfast, take a public bus to Montevideo. From here you will be transferred to the airport, the port or feel free to stay an extra day or two to take in the sights and sounds of Montevideo.
