Baltra - Santa Cruz IslandYou will arrive at the Baltra Airport where our guide will be waiting to accompany you to the Archipell, located at the Puerto Ayora harbor. After arrival on board, you will check in and give you general information and will have lunch. Enjoy a visit to the Highlands of the island where the private farm “Las Primicias” is located. This reserve offers one of the best possibilities to see the giant turtles of Santa Cruz Island in their natural habitat. These turtles can be observed at close range.
FloreanaCormorant Point has beautiful green olivine sand beaches. Follow a short path to reach a beautiful lagoon with an abundance of flamingos. Later visit the Post Office Bay which still keeps the legendary post barrel that whalers historically used to post their mail. Then go to “Mirador de la Baronesa” where a guide tells the murder and mystery legend of the Baronesa. This viewpoint is located on the north of Floreana Island up a very easy climb. Steps are placed in this area for security.
EspanolaExplore an abundance of natural wildlife on Española Island which his home to various species of birds, like the endemic Hood-Mockingbird. Enjoy excellent swimming at Gardner Bay and snorkel to find lots of fish and sometimes turtles and sharks. The bay is also frequented by colonies of sea lions, which like to swim with people. Point Suarez has one of the most outstanding wildlife areas of the archipelago. An extensive number of species are found along its cliffs and beaches.
San CristobalPunta Pitt is one of the only two sites where all three boobies breed. It is also occupied by frigatebirds, Swallow-tailed Gulls, and Galapagos storm petrels. Cerro Brujo is one of the first sites visited by Charles Darwin. This fascinating lava landscape is located on the northeast coast of San Cristóbal and boobies, sea gulls and some pelicans can be observed at this point. This is a protected bay making it very popular by young ocean turtles and rays.
San Cristobal - LobosEnjoy swimming and snorkeling with sea lions in the calm bay of Lobos Island. It is also a seasonal nesting location for the blue footed booby and frigate birds. Enjoy lunch and then start with an excursion to the Galapaguera, which is located in the northeast part of San Cristobal Island. It has been created to conserve the San Cristobal tortoise species. The center has the goal to lead and guide the tourists in conservation topics and protection of the environment. Catch giant tortoises in their natural habitat on the attractive trail enclosed by native plants.
South Plaza Island - Santa FeSouth Plaza has unique Sesuvium plants and Opuntia cactuses scattered across the landscape which provide some of the most interesting wildlife observations available in Galapagos. Land iguanas are easily seen from the trail. Catch them hiding under the shade of a cactus. Santa Fe is one of the most entertaining destinations for shore excursions. There will be two trail choices for visitors here. Hike to the tallest Opuntia cactus in the Galapagos or go to the highlands where land iguanas can be found. Swim in calm waters or snorkel with whimsical sea lions.
FloreanaA beautiful artisan spring is located at the Peace Asylum. This is one of the few year-round sources of fresh water, which made it attractive to pirates, whalers and later settlers to Floreana. The original settlers landed at La Cueva de los Piratas (Pirate's Cave) which is a location where pirates carved temporary shelters out of soft stone. The small beach of La Loberia is home to a colony of sea lions, as well as marine iguanas. Walk there from town for some recreational snorkeling. Fortunate snorkelers may spot a ray or a shark.
Santa Cruz Island - Charles Darwin Center - BaltraCharles Darwin Research Station contains an information center, a museum, a library and a tortoise breeding station. Encounter tortoises of different subspecies. Here these tortoises are prepared for reintroduction to their natural habitats. The Highlands of Santa Cruz contain incredible zones of vegetation. Enjoy a visit to the private farm Las Primicias. This reserve offers one of the best possibilities to see the huge turtles of Santa Cruz Island at close range. At the end of the tour, you will return to Baltra’s airport to take the flight back to the continent.
