Explore the eastern islands of the Galapagos archipelago on the Cormorant. Explore sea-side trails, admire volcanic formations, snorkel with sea lions, and experience the best of the archipelago while on your Galapagos tour.

Day 1

Baltra - Santa Cruz Island - Bachas Beach

Arrive at Baltra Island Airport and transfer to the Cormorant.

Set sail for Bachas Beach, an excellent location for swimming. View flamingos, Sally Lightfoot crabs, hermit crabs, black necked stilts, and whimbrels. Explore the floating pier, a remnant World War II in the Galapagos Islands.

    Day 2

      Bartolome - Santiago

Visit Bartholomew Island and travel to Pinnacle Rock. Bartholomew is an extinct volcano which features unique red, orange, black and green volcanic formations. Venture up a trail of 375 wooden stairs to the summit or snorkel along the beach. This location is known for its sightings of the Galapagos penguin. In the afternoon, sail for Sullivan Bay, a location of great geological interest. The bay is coated in Pahoehoe and A’A lava flows, creating striking formations.

      Day 3

South Plaza Island - Santa Fe

Travel to South Plaza, a small island covered in Opuntia cacti. The island is home to one of the largest sea lion colonies and also features many colorful yellow and red land iguanas. Take a brief hike over the terrain for views of the island. In the afternoon, set sail for Santa Fe Island and hike its two visitor trails.

        Day 4

          San Cristobal

Explore Witch Hill. Eroded by the sea, Witch Hill features white powdery sand and a picturesque beach. Snorkel alongside sea turtles and rays, and view various types of Booby Birds from the beach.

Travel to Pitt Point and take a trail up to the face of a cliff. This hike offers superb views of the island. Snorkel in the clear waters and hope to meet some playful sea lions.

          Day 5

            San Cristobal

Lobos Islandis is named after the sea lions that rest and play on its rocky shores. The island is also home to blue-footed boobies, great frigate-birds, brown pelicans, lava gulls, common noddies, yellow warblers and small and medium ground finches. There is good snorkeling in the clear waters of the channel and this is one of the best sites at which to swim with sea lions underwater.

Sail for Kicker Rock, a striking formation which is located a couple hours off the western shore of San Cristobal. Jutting out of the water, the rocks stand vertically at hundreds of feet above the ocean divided by a small channel. Although there are no landing areas, kayaking and scuba diving allow visitors to spot a variety of marine life.

            Day 6

              Espanola

Journey to Suarez Point to view Blue-footed Boobies, albatrosses and Nazca Boobies. The most famous attraction on Espanola is a magnificent blowhole which spurts water high into the air. Take a two mile hike across the island.

In the afternoon, travel to Gardner Bay, the breeding site of most of the world´s 12,000 pairs of Waved Albatrosses. Gardner Bay features a large white sandy beach and the reef makes this location ideal for snorkeling and swimming with sea lions.

              Day 7

                Floreana

In the morning, set sail for Cormorant Point which features a large flamingo lagoon. Take an optional hike or swim in the clear waters.

Travel to Floreana to visit Post Office Bay, where an a wooden barrel was placed by 18th century whalers as an unofficial post office. The tradition has continued to this day, and travelers can leave addressed postcards and sort through the barrel for postcards close to their homes. Delivering one of these postcards is a rewarding experience.

                Day 8

Santa Cruz Island - Charles Darwin Center - Baltra

In the morning, tour the Charles Darwin Research Station and view the tortoises in various stages of life. New hatchlings average 3 inches, while the adults can reach over 4 feet long. Stretch out your hand and interact with these gentle giants. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for your flight back to the mainland.
