Day 1: Transfer from Reykjavik to Isafjordur, Iceland / Embark

Arrive in Reykjavik and transfer by chartered bus to Isafjordur. The shuttle is approximately 7 hours. Embark your ship this afternoon and prepare to set sail.

Day 2: Uninhabited Westfjords

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
As your ship cruises along Iceland's Westfjords, snow conditions govern the best options for the day. Spend the day and the night at this beautiful location, giving skiers the rare possibility of skiing from the top of a mountain down to the coast.

Day 3-4: Hesteyrarfjörður or Veiðileysufjörður

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Enjoy a great scenic cruise as your ship crew aims to anchor in the sheltered fjords of Hesteyrarfjörður or Veiðileysufjörður looking for a great place to snowshoe or ski. The mountains are not that high here but alpine slopes offer promising ski outings. The snowshoe walkers can opt for an easy route whilst the ski mountaineers scale higher peaks and pick a downhill run. At night, the Westfjords are a great place to watch the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) during the winter months. On these late March and early April sailings, you may still witness them.

Day 5: Hornbjarg

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Look for a calm area in the bay of Hornvik at the northern tip of Iceland. Here, surrounded by rugged mountains, hope to snowshoe or ski up to the Hornbjarg view point, an impressive rock face towering over the Hornstrandir Nature Reserve. In summer the cliffs and valleys are inhabited with birds, and in the fall the fjords offer moments of silence and tranquility. Keep an eye out for the Arctic fox that proudly roam the mountains and inlets.

Day 6: Adalvik

  • Ship
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
On your final day out in the wilderness of the Westfjords, find ski and snowshoe tours near Adalvik. The rugged mountains rise dramatically from the sea and the views from this height are spectacular. Ski mountaineers explore the higher peaks whilst non-skiers can enjoy a walk with snowshoes.

Day 7: Disembark in Isafjordur / Transfer to Reykjavik, Iceland

  • 1 Breakfast
Arrive in Ísafjörður in the morning and transfer by chartered highland bus to centrally located hotels in Reykjavik (approx. 7 hours). Flight departures to European destinations leave in the morning and to US destinations in the afternoon of the following day (flights not included in the price).

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
