Board the MS Cyrano de Bergerac between 6 and 7 PM and settle in to your cabin. Explore the ship and meet the crew during a welcome cocktail party. Enjoy dinner on board.
Sail down the Garonne River to join the Gironde River, passing Cazeau Island and Patiras Island before arriving in Pauillac. After lunch, embark on an optional excursion to the Medoc, a renowned vineyard region where the world's most famous red wines are cultivated. Visit the "must see" Lafite-Rothschild, Latour, and Mouton Rothschild Chateaux. At the end of the day, return to the ship for dinner. The ship remains in port overnight.
Cruise along the Gironde River to its estuary and enjoy a relaxing lunch on board before arriving in Blaye around 2 PM. Join an optional excursion along the Corniche, or cliff route. Stop at the village of Bourg, a charming city built on a rocky outcrop and enclosed by medieval ramparts. Return to Blaye and take a tour of the citadel.
Cast off early in the morning and enjoy breakfast as you cruise towards Libourne. The ship will cruise the Dordogne River and arrive in Libourne early in the afternoon. Join an optional excursion by coach to Saint-Emilion. Take a guided tour of the Saint-Emilion underground monuments and discover this medieval city's history. Visit Father Emilion's cave, a fascinating troglodyte settlement, before ending the tour with a wine tasting.
Enjoy breakfast and lunch as you cruise towards Cadillac. In the afternoon, take an optional guided visit to the Chateau de Roquetaillade. This medieval castle is famous for its decor, which dates from the XIXth century. Stop in a Sauterne winery for a special tasting before returning to Cadillac for a guided visit of the city, including the town's castle, old mansions and XVth century church.
Cruise back to Bordeaux in the morning to arrive in the early afternoon. Set off by coach on an optional guided tour of Bordeaux. A city of art and architecture, Bordeaux is one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. Begin with a tour by bus before walking through the ancient city.
After breakfast on board, join an optional excursion to the heart of Arcachon Bay. Begin the first tour with a visit to an oyster farming museum located in Larros Port. Through modern and interactive exhibitions, glimpse into the work of the oyster farmers and the history of the oyster. Visit an oyster cabin and taste some of the delicacy before enjoying lunch in a local restaurant. Then continue down the road to Arcachon to catch a boat tour of Arcachon Bay. Head to the Great Dune du Pilat, the highest sand dune in Europe, and marvel at the view from the top. Return to the ship in Bordeaux and enjoy a gala dinner on board for your final evening.
Enjoy one last breakfast on board before disembarking at 9 AM.
