Today enjoy an all-day optional excursion, starting at the Thingvellir National Park, a place of tremendous interest as a primary site of both Iceland’s geological and historical heritage. The tour continues to Gulfoss, Iceland's most beautiful waterfall and then to the Geysir geothermal area with its multitude of hot springs, where the most active one, Strokkur, spouts every few minutes. Stop at the Hveragerdi village, where geothermal water has been used to build up an extensive greenhouse industry and then at the Hellisheiði Geothermal Power Plant showcasing Iceland's ability to supply green power. Your tour ends as you pass through Reykjavik’s city center before arriving at the pier. Overnight at sea.
This morning, arrive in Grundafjordur, a quintessential Icelandic town. If you wish, join the optional excursion of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. This small fishing village lies next to striking Mt. Kirkjufell, or “Church Mountain”, one of the most photographed mountains in Iceland. From there, head to Olafsvik, passing the splendid Baejarfoss waterfall and continue to the southern side of the peninsula to reach the villages of Arnarstapi and Hellnar before making your way to Snaefellsjokull National Park, one of the county’s three national parks, established in 2001 in an effort to preserve the region’s unique ecosystem and historical artifacts. After your visit to the park, drive back to the ship for a relaxing afternoon and evening sailing to Patreksfjordur. Overnight at sea.
This morning arrive at Patreksfjordur. The optional Westfjords adventure excursion starts from the port and reaches the Latrabjarg cliffs, with the largest seabird colony in the northern Atlantic, famous for its puffins colony. Your next stop is at Raudasandur or “Red Sand” beach, distinct itself from most of Iceland’s beaches, as it is golden and pink in color. We will ride on a tractor carriage with our expert guide and local farmer along the beach to the seal colony, where you can see the seals up close. Later in the afternoon, cruise around the Harnafjordur and anchor in front of the majestic Dynjandi Waterfall. After drinks to celebrate this wonder of nature, sail to Isafjordur. Overnight at sea.
Arrive this morning to Isafjordur. After breakfast onboard, disembark for anoptional tour to Thingeyri villageand the interactiveViking Museum. After the “Viking experience” return to Isafjordur and visit the Maritime and Heritage Museum, highlighting the rich history and culture of this fishing community. In the afternoon, sail to Holmavik. Overnight at sea.
Arrive at the small village of Holmavik early this morning, one of the least visited parts of Iceland’s Westfjords. After breakfast onboard, disembark for an optional full day excursion: first, visit the Museum of Sorcery and Witchcraft to learn about the old Viking traditions and culture, then you will stop for lunch at a local restaurant, built from the town’s oldest house, and finally, visit a local sheep farm to interact with the farmers daily lives and spend time observing the sheep. Evening return to the ship and sailing to Siglufjordur. Overnight at sea.
This morning you reach Siglufjordur, Iceland’s northernmost city, very close to the Arctic Circle and possibly the most picturesque port of Iceland. Once known as the capital of Herring fishing. Choose from two optional excursions:
1. The optional walking excursion through the city will take you to the port, the Herring Museum, the Folk Music center housed in Madame House, the oldest house in the city.
2. The Lake Myvatn & Godafoss optional tour: Depart around noon and head to the thermal field of Namaskard. Then continue to Dimmuborgir lava labyrinth, a paradise of towering lava castles, natural arches and grottos. Lunch included. Driving along the shores of Lake Myvatn, reach Skutustadir and its amazing craters. You'll then continue to the Godafoss, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland. The tour will end at Akureyri, where you'll rejoin the Panorama late evening.
**Passengers not participating in an excursion will be sailing to Akureyri with the Panorama.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!

The response from Adventure Life to my first inquiry was prompt and promising. I worked with Jamie Broeckel, Trip Planner, via text, email, and phone calls- always extremely responsive and thorough with information and explaining the process to arrange a private tour for me to Malaysia Borneo. Within about week, the booking was complete and I made decisions because of Jamie's great customer service , friendly manner, and overall competence on behalf of the company's travel expertise. Now I have an itinerary, additional Trip Planner Assistants, several links for vital information for traveling to Maylasia, etc. Still many details for Sept. trip, but now the heavy lifting is done and I can enjoy the rest of the anticipation and research!! Thanks Jamie- you are amazing!!!!

The trip was not only memorable for the amount of animals we saw but also for the people and accommodations at the two camps where we stayed. Our first guide, BK, was a wealth of information about the animals, landscape and down to the plants and what they were used for. Everyday out was a learning experience with him. All the people at the camps were gracious and the food was excellent.
Our second camp in the Okavanga was just as good as the first as far as the staff, accommodations, food and animals. After our experience at the first camp we amazed that the high quality remained the same. Our guide, G, made sure we were able to enjoy every experience including a rush through the bush to witness a cheetah and an ensuing hunt that he heard over his radio.
In both camps there were enough guides out that if they saw something the other guides were informed which helped in seeing as much as possible. It was also nice that the concessions were large enough that we did not have vehicles following each other throughout the day.
Normally there is always something in a trip of this length that we think could be improved upon but this is the rare case where we cannot think of anything. From the time we left the States to when we returned it was one of the most hassle free vacations we took.
Perhaps emphasizing the use of the laundry facilities at the camps would be useful because of the luggage restrictions would be the only thing I can think of as an improvement to future clients.
