Sail the historic canals and rivers of France aboard the 22-passenger Jeanine, a premium CroisiEurope canal barge that was completely refurbished in 2013 to transform it into a modern vessel on the waterways. Her modest size at 38.5 meters long and 5 meters wide allows MS Jeanine to navigate narrower canals on the route and invites guests to indulge in a relaxed, authentic, and more intimate cruise experience.
A six-man crew is on hand to provide superb personalized service. At the same time, brightly colored interiors give the boat character and make it stand out from other European barges on France’s waterways.
12 cabins with private en-suite facilities and window. All cabins are equipped with private en-suite facilities (shower and WC), TV, radio, telephone (for internal calls only), safe and independant air-conditioning.

Measuring 8 square meters, all cabins are comfortable and well-appointed, fitted with a window and private ensuite facilities. Other features include a TV, radio, in-room safe, telephone for internal calls, hairdryer, towels, and free Wi-Fi. Despite the more intimate atmosphere on the MS Jeanine barge, there are numerous common areas where guests can lounge and relax.
Lounge Bar: A well-stocked bar, seats, and vibrant interiors make the lounge an excellent spot to kick back and wind down with family and friends. Just a few steps from the dining area, this is a great place for mingling in between meals and after-dinner cocktails.
Restaurant: Passengers enjoy all meals at the restaurant on the main deck. With warm lighting and tasteful décor, the casual yet elegant area is a pleasant space to savor the delicious chef-prepared dishes served on Jeanine. About CroisiEurope
An independent French family business, CroisiEurope has been a pioneer in European river cruising since it was established in 1976. Over the years, the cruise company has developed a strong presence worldwide, offering small-ship cruises on rivers, canals, and seas of Southeast Asia, Africa, the United States, and exotic Egypt and Jordan.
Key to the company’s long-standing success is the ever-expanding CroisiEurope fleet, which the cruise line developed with utmost attention to detail and commitment to innovation. Every vessel is designed to suit the nature of its route, from the characteristics of the waters to environmental issues in the region. Each ship is well-maintained and modernized, with the fleet consisting of gems such as Anne Marie, MS Déborah, Madeleine, and Raymonde.
Sustainability and eco-friendly measures are also a priority for CroisiEurope. Every ship is fitted with water-saving equipment and treatment systems for water, used oil, and waste. Green engines and devices are incorporated to save electricity and reduce carbon emissions. The company has also shifted to gas-to-liquid (GTL) fuel when plying the Seine.

The trip was not only memorable for the amount of animals we saw but also for the people and accommodations at the two camps where we stayed. Our first guide, BK, was a wealth of information about the animals, landscape and down to the plants and what they were used for. Everyday out was a learning experience with him. All the people at the camps were gracious and the food was excellent.
Our second camp in the Okavanga was just as good as the first as far as the staff, accommodations, food and animals. After our experience at the first camp we amazed that the high quality remained the same. Our guide, G, made sure we were able to enjoy every experience including a rush through the bush to witness a cheetah and an ensuing hunt that he heard over his radio.
In both camps there were enough guides out that if they saw something the other guides were informed which helped in seeing as much as possible. It was also nice that the concessions were large enough that we did not have vehicles following each other throughout the day.
Normally there is always something in a trip of this length that we think could be improved upon but this is the rare case where we cannot think of anything. From the time we left the States to when we returned it was one of the most hassle free vacations we took.
Perhaps emphasizing the use of the laundry facilities at the camps would be useful because of the luggage restrictions would be the only thing I can think of as an improvement to future clients.
