The One Ocean Navigator, also called the M/V Plancius, has a storied past as a hydrographic research vessel in the service of the Dutch government. Since 2007 the ship has undergone a total refit and refurbishment to prepare her for active service carrying passengers on polar expeditions.

Cabin Accommodations
All of our cabins are comfortable and well appointed with private facilities and all lower beds (either twin or double). All cabins have ample storage facilities and a writing desk and chair, as well as a flat screen TV for viewing movies. Premium cabins are furnished with upgraded linens. A small amenity kit contains soap, shampoo and moisturizer in case you need it. All cabins have outside views with either a porthole or window. While we make every effort to conserve water, bed linens will be laundered every three days or as needed. Your friendly cabin steward will take care of that.

Dining Room
We will all get to know each other well in the dining room which comfortably seats our full complement of passengers and program staff. With large windows on both the starboard and port sides, you will not miss any extraordinary sightings while enjoying the company and the food. Breakfast and some lunches (when onboard) are buffet style, while other lunches and dinners are normally served to your seat. All meals are prepared by our team of experienced, professional chefs. You will find the food delicious and the atmosphere relaxed and informal. Dress is always informal in our dining room but many people like to wear a sweater.

Bridge
Our guests are welcome on the bridge during the voyage. Here you will have the chance
to learn about seafaring from our captain and officers as they safely command and control the vessel. Outfitted with the very latest equipment, this is where the captain monitors the ship’s operation, ensuring our vessel is always running and maintained optimally.

Observation Lounge/Bar
From here guests will be treated to some of the most spectacular views of their lives.
Panoramic vistas from the bow, port and starboard side surround us in the observation
lounge. This area serves as our primary meeting place onboard. It is where you will find our well stocked and tended bar, making the observation lounge a comfortable, friendly place to take in nature’s wonders. You can sit in one of our comfortable lounge chairs near a window and sip an evening cocktail while watching the incredible scenery go by, or you can also take it all in with a hot coffee, tea or hot chocolate, available 24 hours a day.

Library
After a day of Polar exploring, many guests cannot wait to learn more about this
spectacular region, making the library a popular place. It is packed with comprehensive resources on everything Polar from the wildlife and history to geography and geology. We also have many books on landscape and wildlife photography as well as maps and navigational charts for budding mariners. If it is escapist literature you are after, the library is stocked with a collection of novels and other fun reading for onboard bookworms.

Gift Shop
Our gift shop, open daily, is stocked with a wide variety of souvenir items ranging from
shirts, sweaters, fleeces and hats to books and maps. We also sell a variety of snack
foods and toiletries.

Medical Treatment Room
We hope our guests never need to visit it, but we do have a medical treatment room
onboard. It is stocked with a variety of commonly required medications and first aid
equipment should the need arise. On every voyage, we have an emergency physician on
our team.

Small Boat Operations
All our Polar excursions off the ship are made possible via the ten inflatable Zodiac™
boats we carry onboard our vessel. With a total capacity of 120 passengers, we are able
to comfortably transport all our passengers to and from the ship at once. It also means we can cruise the waters at the same time, exploring beautiful coves and catching exciting wildlife sightings together.

Communications
While we believe that being removed from the ‘real world’ is one of the great allures of the Polar Regions, we do understand that being in touch with the folks back home is vital in some cases. We carry onboard the most modern communication equipment if you need it. The ship is fitted with the latest satellite communication as well as an Inmarsat phone and fax system. We also have e-mail and Internet capability onboard. A ship-wide PA system will keep passengers informed of our daily progress as well as any
sightings you will not want to miss.

Sauna and Fitness Room
Our ship boasts a clean and well-equipped fitness facility with a treadmill, bike and rowing machine as well as an array of other apparatus. Your workout cannot be complete without spending some relaxing time in the ship’s sauna. It is also the very best place to warm up after a brisk day spent exploring the Polar Regions.
