Moderately active but not overly strenuous. This level includes activities like casual cycling, yoga, or excursions/activities that typically last 3-5 hours total each day.
Arrive in Winnipeg, where you will enjoy a relaxing stay at our choice hotel, The Grand by Lakeview at the Winnipeg Airport. Your winter gear fitting and collection will take place at 5 p.m. before you meet the rest of your group. A Churchill Wild representative will host an orientation dinner.
*Note: Churchill Wild reserves the right to make changes to this itinerary due to weather and logistical complications that can arise from traveling in the north and to remote locations.
Day 2: Fly to Churchill | Seal River Heritage Lodge
Fly to Churchill, where the staff will greet you and take you to the lodge. If the weather permits, snowmobiles will be used from Churchill to the lodge. An adventure in itself, this will be an incredible introduction to the subarctic tundra and seascape.
The location beneath the auroral oval, combined with spring’s clear skies, offers exceptional opportunities for viewing the northern lights. Before you drift off to sleep, make sure your camera is ready to capture the aurora if it shows up during the night. If that happens, one of the staff will gently rouse you so you don’t miss the show.
Day 3-7: Seal River Heritage Lodge Adventure Activities
Your days will start with a hearty, full-course breakfast to fuel your daily activities and will consist of guided expeditions to the floe edge or along the rugged Hudson Bay coastline. You’ll have opportunities for dogsledding, sea kayaking, fat-tire biking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing.
What does “downtime” at the lodge include? You might find yourself creating igloos, carving soapstone, or even creating your very own pair of snowshoes that you will later use, all of which are modeled after numerous traditional indigenous activities. Award-winning recipes blossoming into tasty reality are never far away.
The floe edge is ever-changing with the tides and prevailing winds of the day. Keep your eyes peeled for bearded, ringed, and harbor seals bobbing in the water or napping on the ice.
The ice itself is almost like a living organism, morphing and shifting with some of the highest tides in the world.
Day 8: Transfer to Churchill
1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
After breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to the lodge and the vistas that have taken your breath away for the last six days. Embark on your guided snowmobile adventure back to Churchill in time for dinner and a good night's sleep. Your overnight stay and meals are all provided in Churchill.
After a morning in Churchill, pack your bags in preparation for your flight back to Winnipeg, where you can spend one final night at the Grand Lakeview or continue on home if flights allow and you’re not too tuckered out.
Day 10: Return Home
Today is your last day to do any last-minute shopping for gifts and souvenirs in Winnipeg before your onward journey. We bid you farewell—until your next Churchill Wild adventure!

Good to ideal period to travel, and many people choose to visit at this time.
Typically not offered during this period because of weather conditions.
Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
