Day 1: Arrive in Cairo

Arrive at Cairo International Airport, where a local representative meets and assists with immigration and baggage formalities. Transfer by air-conditioned car, van, or minibus to the hotel in Cairo.

Rest and prepare for the start of the Egypt tour.

Day 2: Pyramids of Giza | Sphinx | Grand Egyptian Museum

Start the day with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a full-day guided tour of Cairo’s most iconic landmarks. Visit the Pyramids of Giza—Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus—built with over two million limestone blocks. Explore the site and enter the burial chambers of the Cheops Pyramid. Continue to the Great Sphinx of Giza, a massive limestone statue with a pharaoh’s head and lion’s body, believed to date back to 2620 BC. A short stop at a papyrus institute or perfume shop is also included.

In the afternoon, explore the Grand Egyptian Museum, the world’s largest archaeological museum. View artifacts from ancient Egypt through the Greco-Roman period. The museum’s modern architecture offers clear views of the nearby pyramids. Return to the hotel by late afternoon. Optional sound and light show at the Pyramids available in the evening. Stay overnight at Jaz Pyramids Resort or similar.

We are very excited to share that the Grand Egyptian Museum has opened and a visit can be arranged. Please note that at this time, visitors are only allowed to visit for short periods and only a few displays are open. While King Tut's artifacts still remain at the original Egyptian Museum, we recommend keeping this visit.

Day 3: Saqqara | Dashour | Memphis | Fly to Luxor

Begin the day with a visit to Memphis, the first capital of ancient Egypt. See the massive statue of Ramses II and explore the remains of this once-powerful city. Continue to Saqqara to view the Step Pyramid of Djoser, considered the earliest large-scale stone structure in Egypt. Then head to Dashour to see the Bent Pyramid, showing the transition in pyramid design and construction.

In the afternoon, transfer to Cairo Airport for a domestic flight to Luxor, a major center of ancient Egyptian civilization. Upon arrival, meet the local representative and transfer to the hotel located near the Nile River.

Day 4: West Bank Tour | Evening Visit to Luxor Temple

Start the day with an early breakfast before crossing to Luxor’s West Bank, an area known for its royal tombs and temples. Begin at the Colossi of Memnon, two large statues that once guarded the entrance to a temple complex. Continue to the Valley of the Kings, where pharaohs, including Tutankhamun, were buried in rock-cut tombs with detailed wall carvings.

Visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, a unique structure built into the cliffs and dedicated to one of ancient Egypt’s few female rulers. The morning ends at Medinat Habu, the mortuary temple of Ramses III, featuring colorful hieroglyphs and well-preserved reliefs.

Return to the hotel for a free afternoon. In the early evening, explore the illuminated Luxor Temple, located in the city center.

Day 5: Free Morning and Visit to Karnak Temple

Begin the day with a relaxed morning at the hotel or explore local markets in Luxor. Optional activities include a visit to the Luxor Museum or additional West Bank sites such as the Ramesseum, Valley of the Queens, and Deir el-Medina. A hot air balloon flight over the Nile’s West Bank is also available early in the morning for those who book in advance.

In the afternoon, visit Karnak Temple, one of the largest religious complexes in the world. Walk through the Great Hypostyle Hall with its massive stone columns and explore chapels and shrines dedicated to various gods and rulers. Learn about the importance of ancient Thebes and its long history as a center of worship.

Return to the hotel in the evening.

Day 6: Dendara Temple Visit | Drive to Hurghada

After breakfast, check out from the hotel in Luxor and travel north along the Nile to Dendara. Visit the Dendara Temple Complex, dedicated to the goddess Hathor. Known for its detailed ceiling carvings and well-preserved structure, Dendara is one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt.

Following the visit, continue the journey east through the desert landscape to the Red Sea coast. Arrive in Hurghada and check in at the hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, with access to beachfront facilities, dining, and resort amenities.

Day 7-9: Hurghada Exploration | Free Day

Spend three full days at the Red Sea in Hurghada. Relax on the resort’s private beach or enjoy the pool and on-site facilities. Hurghada is known for clear waters, vibrant coral reefs, and easy access to snorkeling and diving trips.

Optional activities include windsurfing, kitesurfing, glass-bottom boat rides, and quad biking in the desert. Local operators also offer camel rides, sea fishing, and day trips to nearby islands. The marina and old town are within reach for shopping and exploring local markets.

No scheduled transfers or flights during this period. Resort staff and local representatives are available to help plan and book excursions or extend the stay if needed.

Day 10: Fly to Cairo | Explore Old Cairo and Khan el-Khalili Bazaar

Take a morning flight from Hurghada to Cairo (flight time may vary by schedule). Upon arrival, transfer to the city center and check in at the hotel. In the afternoon, join a guided walking tour of Old Cairo’s historic streets and markets.

Enter through Bab al-Futuh, one of the old city’s main gates, and explore traditional craft areas known for metalwork, spices, pottery, textiles, and jewelry. Continue to the Khan el-Khalili bazaar, Cairo’s most famous market, known for local goods and souvenirs. Take a short break at a traditional cafe for mint tea or shisha before returning to the hotel for the final night in Cairo.

Day 11: Return Home

  • 1 Breakfast
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the international airport for your departure home. Alternatively, talk to your Adventure Life Trip planner about extending your trip to Egypt or visiting nearby countries like Jordan.
