Day 1: Dubrovnik | Embark

Dubrovnik is located on a rocky section of the Dalmatian coast and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The city’s main street, La Placa, is unusually wide because it was built over a former lagoon. The buildings along this street are made of travertine stone. At the Pile Gate, a statue of Dubrovnik’s patron saint stands at the entrance. The city’s defensive walls offer views of the coastline. Inside Fort Saint John, which is part of the outer walls, there is a maritime museum and an aquarium with Adriatic fish species.

Day 2: Trogir

Trogir is a historic city built on an island connected to the Dalmatian coast. It dates back to ancient times and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site due to its preserved Greco-Roman street layout. The former cardo maximus now serves as the main street in the old town. The area includes shops, galleries, and bakeries. Saint Lawrence Cathedral features three naves and is a notable landmark. The Kamerlengo Fortress offers a view of the old town and surrounding coastline from its tower.

Day 3: Zadar

The old fortified city of Zadar stands on peninsula in Northern Dalmatia. It has survived since Antiquity, as the ruins of a Roman forum illustrate. Beside these ruins, the architecture of the church of Saint Donat is Byzantine while the bell-tower of the Cathedral of Saint Anastasia is of Italian design. Your walks in the old town are punctuated by diverse encounters with history. As you reach the shoreline, you’ll be brought back to modern day because this front is animated by two contemporary architectural creations. Maybe you hear the sound of the “Sea Organ” music played by the surf, and see the “Sun Salutations” light installation reflecting its luminous rays.

Day 4: Rijeka

A hidden gem on the Croatian coast, Rijeka is a city where the sea and mountains meet in a harmonious embrace. Its bustling port bears witness to a glorious maritime past and, more generally, a rich history. Along its cobbled streets, discover Austro-Hungarian palaces and industrial ruins that reflect a complex history. Dominated by Trsat Castle, Rijeka offers beautiful panoramic views of the Adriatic.

Day 5: Ravenna

Linked to the Adriatic Sea by a canal, the city of Ravenna and its countless monuments offer you a rich journey back in time. Roman and Byzantine cultures intermingle here, and the fruits of this history adorn the interiors of the cityメs religious buildings: the abundance of classical mosaics is the most stunning witness to Ravennaメs glorious past. Eight UNESCO World Heritage-listed Paleo-Christian sites punctuate your journey into the historic heart of the city. Still very lively despite the weight of its history, Ravenna has much to offer to visitors.

Day 6-7: Venice

Proud and eternal, Venice has reigned on its lagoon ever since the 6th century. You may think you know this city before even setting foot here. It’s easy to fall in love with the charm of the innumerable treasures of the Serenissima: Saint Mark’s Square, the basilica, Doge’s Palace, the Grand Canal, and the gondolas. Yet, secret Venice is also waiting for you to explore its little interlacing streets and canals, to ramble through its squares and to push open the doors of its churches. The city’s extraordinary heritage shouldn’t stop you from enjoying a glass of Spritz and a few tramezzini.
