Activity options vary depending on destination and operator. Activity level is determined by the range and intensity of activities you choose to participate in. Discuss with your Trip Planner which options are best for you.
Your journey begins in Bergen, Norway’s second-largest city and a gateway to the fjords. Founded in 1070 A.D., Bergen features architecture shaped by the prosperous 14th-century Hanseatic League, a German trading organization.
If you have time before your ship departs, explore the UNESCO-listed wharfs in the vibrant Bryggen district, now filled with artisan shops and charming cobblestone streets. Just across the way is the renowned fish market, where you can savor delicious seafood. The Fløibanen funicular also offers a ride to the top of Mount Fløyen for panoramic views of the city.
Before boarding, unwind in the comfortable guest lounge at the terminal. Once aboard, enjoy the first of many meals made from fresh coastal ingredients as you depart Bergen and sail along the ancient Viking route through the Hjeltefjord.
You’ll also meet your ship’s Coastal Experience Team, who will guide you along Norway’s coastline, organizing lectures, onboard activities, and optional hikes throughout the voyage.
Start your morning in the Nordfjord near Torvik before sailing past the West Cape towards Ålesund.
Known for its striking Art Nouveau architecture, Ålesund is also home to Atlanterhavsparken, one of northern Europe’s largest saltwater aquariums. You’ll have ample time to explore this charming town in spring or winter.
This section of the voyage brings us to the Trøndelag region of Norway, marked by crumpled hills, fields dotted with farmsteads, and low-lying coastal settlements.
Magical, medieval, and modern
Trondheim was founded by Viking King Olav Tryggvason in 997 A.D. and is now Norway’s third-largest city. It features a mix of historic buildings and a lively student population.
You’ll have about three hours to explore Trondheim and its various highlights.
You cross the Arctic Circle early in the morning, kicking off your Arctic adventure. A traditional ceremony marks the occasion and will definitely wake you up.
In summer, enjoy 24 hours of daylight above the Arctic Circle, while in winter, your chances of spotting the Northern Lights increase dramatically.

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.
THEY GET BACK TO YOU PROMPTLY WITH ANSWERS TO YOUR CONCERNS OR QUESTIONS.

The Adventure Life staff, for me it's Franny, always listens to what I say about what kind of travel my wife and I want and expect. It never goes wrong. The motto at AL seems to be I will get back to you right away if not sooner. Requested changes and special requests are encouraged and acted on ASAP.
