Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge is located in the foothills of the Virungas, offering stunning views of the volcanoes and surrounding countryside.
Operated by Governor's Camp and owned by the SACOLA community trust, the lodge supports local socio-economic and conservation efforts. The African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) was instrumental in its development.
Accommodation includes six double cottages, two suites, and one family suite, all with Rwandese terracotta tile roofs, large sitting areas, fireplaces, en-suite bathrooms, and sheltered verandas. The main lodge features a reception, dining room, library/games room, community awareness room, and more. Three large fireplaces and polished wooden floors enhance the comfort, with two patios offering dramatic views of the Virunga Volcanoes and surrounding farmland.

Standard Cottage
Each cottage has a large sitting area, a fireplace, and a spacious en-suite bathroom. A large veranda invites you to relax and enjoy the garden filled with birds.
The trip might have been the absolute best of our lifetime (thus far). We particularly want to commend our guide Peter in the Guilin area-he was so incredibly attentive, energetic, enthusiastic-and absolutely dedicated to ensuring that our meals were 100% vegetarian.
