Originally the home of a rich merchant, this graceful building has stood for more than one hundred and fi fty years in the heart of stone town, bearing witness to the events of Zanzibar’s history and fi nally being restored to an elegant hotel. Being right in the heart of stone town you do not have to go far to fi nd the shops, restaurants’ and the other historical attractions. Walking around the hotel you get the feeling of being in a museum dedicated to furniture, ornaments and pictures which represent all the styles which have been brought to Zanzibar over the years.
