Day 1: Boston, Massachusetts

Check in to your hotel and get settled. Afterward, head out to explore this historic city known for its colonial sites, major universities, and distinctive neighborhoods. Follow the Freedom Trail to visit key locations from the American Revolution, or take in the views along the Charles River. Day 4: Plymouth, Massachusetts

Plymouth, a coastal town, marks the spot of the earliest Pilgrim settlement established in 1620. The famed Plymouth Rock, positioned within Pilgrim Memorial State Park, symbolizes the believed landing point of these early settlers. Nearby, the Mayflower II, a meticulous full-scale reproduction of the vessel that transported the Pilgrims across the Atlantic, is typically moored at the park, offering a tangible link to this pivotal moment in history. The surrounding landscape shows the stretching shorelines and expansive views of the Atlantic, encapsulating the natural beauty that first greeted the Pilgrims. Bright green forests and scenic trails around the town offer plenty of opportunities for exploration and enjoying the serene outdoor environment.

Plymouth Rock, Brewster GardensMayflower II - Visit Plymouth Rock, where the Mayflower Pilgrims were said to have stepped in 1620 to land in the New World. A short walk away is Brewster Gardens with beautiful sculptures along Town Brook where the Pilgrims settled in what was then called Patuxet.
Town SquareBurial Hill, Plimoth Grist Mill - At the top of Town Square is the Mayflower Meetinghouse. Behind is Burial Hill and to the left is the 1649 Courthouse, a free museum filled with interesting items from Plymouths history. It is the oldest wooden Court House and the longest used municipal building in America.
Plimoth General Store - Plimoth General Store combines the charm and character of a time gone by. Explore all its nooks and crannies, which feature dining, fine provisions, specialty gifts, unique jewelry, and home goods. Enjoy coffee and baked goods at the café.
Pilgrim Hall Museum - See actual Pilgrim possessions and learn about the Wampanoags and the Pilgrims who participated in the Mayflower story through an exhibit and unique hand-made tapestry project.
National Monument to the Forefathers - Thought to be the largest solid granite monument in the U.S., this 81-foot-tall statue was built to honor the passengers of the Mayflower. Designed by Boston sculptor Hammatt Billings, the monument features allegorical figures depicting the virtues of Faith, Morality, Education, Law, and Liberty.
The Mayflower Society House - The Mayflower Society House was originally constructed in 1754 and enlarged in the 1890’s.The house has a long a grand history, including being the home of the great-grandson of Mayflower passenger Edward Winslow; wedding venue of Ralph Waldo Emerson in the 1830’s; the summer home of the wealthy Willoughby family of retail fame; and was redesigned by famed architect Joseph Everett Chandler. It is now the world headquarters of the Mayflower Society, and shows off a tremendous collection of 19th century architecture and artifacts.

Day 5: Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Massachusetts

Established in 1891 in Boston, MA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA) is the oldest and largest maritime academy still operational in the United States. Explore this unique "special mission" campus, which includes advanced simulators and labs, as you interact with MMA cadets and staff. Experience the cutting-edge 360-degree Full Bridge Simulator, the Emergency Operations Training Center, and the Marine Engineering Labs, among other innovative technologies. As you tour, gain insights into the Academy’s longstanding history and the local area from knowledgeable insiders. Positioned on the scenic shores of Cape Cod, the Academy provides sweeping views of the Cape Cod Canal and Buzzards Bay.

Massachusetts Maritime Academy - Complimentary Excursion
During this privileged excursion, you will explore the campus and its state-of-the-art simulators and labs while you interact with MMA cadets and staff. The Museums at Aptucxet - Complimentary Excursion
The Museums at Aptucxet is a 12-acre campus on the banks of the Cape Cod Canal in Bourne, Massachusetts consisting of small historical buildings, historical replicas and outdoor installations that collectively tell the story of local history from the colonial era through the 20th century. The main museum building is the Aptucxet Trading Post, a replica of the 17th century Pilgrim Trading Post built by Plymouth Colony in 1627 to trade with the local Wampanoag people and travelling Dutch traders. The property also features the 19th-century Gray Gables Railroad Station, which was built to serve President Grover Cleveland during his second term and now functions as a mini museum of Cleveland’s connection to the area. The historic Joseph Jefferson Windmill was originally built as an art studio for the actor Joseph Jefferson at his summer home on Buttermilk Bay and was relocated to the grounds of Aptucxet in 1976. It has recently served as an Art Gallery and studio for local artists to work and display their work. An artisan-lead Gift Shop is housed in a historic information booth from mid-20th century Sagamore Village. The museum property also features a replica of a 19th-century saltworks, a replica of a 19th century coastal schooner, and a work-in-progress 1/2 size model of the Schooner Sultana. A walk through the property will bring you by the Colonial Gardens, Three Sisters Garden, and Wildflower Garden. This is a self-guided experience with docents available for questions.

Day 6: Newport, Rhode Island

Nestled within Narragansett Bay lies Newport, renowned as the global hub of yachting. Meander along its captivating coastlines, exploring its charming historic districts, bustling docks, and breathtaking waterfront. Newport unveils a vibrant array of experiences for all. Engage with its maritime legacy at the Herreshoff Marine Museum and America's Cup Hall of Fame. Uncover Newport's storied past, catching glimpses of majestic coastal residences lining the celebrated "Avenue of the Mansions." Scale marble staircases, view grand ballrooms, and see what life was like when this string of homes were the summer destinations for America’s wealthiest families.

Fort Adams Exploration - Complimentary Excursion
Visit Fort Adams, the well-known fort used to protect the harbor, and you'll be just a short ride away from Newport’s bustling riverfront. View the “Officer’s Quarters” and ascend to the scenic overlook for a breathtaking view of Newport Harbor. Audrain Auto Museum - Founded in 2014 in Newport, Rhode Island, with a mission of "Preserving, Celebrating & Sharing Automotive History," the Audrain Automobile Museum and historic Audrain Building were transformed into a captivating exhibition space, fit specifically for your cultural needs. The museum welcomes visitors with access to collections containing over 400 cars and motorcycles ranging from brass era Veteran cars to Supercars of today.
The Red Parrot Restaurant - In the heart of downtown Newport, where streets are lined with shopping boutiques, visitor information, local favorites, and gift shops await.
The Sailing Museum – This museum features National Sailing Hall of Fame and America’s Cup Hall of Fame exhibits. In the space once used as the Press Room for the America’s Cup the heritage of sailing is celebrated, the legends of the sport honored, and new sailors and innovators inspired. Interactive educational exhibits provide real-world applications of STEAM concepts that come alive through sailing; and visitors of all ages, non-sailors, and sailors alike, experience the magic that happens when wind and water meet.

Day 7: Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts

Martha's Vineyard, once a bustling center for whaling and trade, attracted ships laden with goods from across the globe. Today, this island has transformed into a beloved holiday locale in New England, featuring six unique towns, including the serene Chilmark and the bustling Vineyard Haven. Edgartown, with its elegant aura, stands out as the most sophisticated town on the island, showcasing meticulously preserved colonial architecture and beautifully arranged gardens. Across the island, the natural landscape includes undulating hills and dense oak forests that border the peaceful sandy beaches. If you’re lucky, you might spot ospreys circling overhead as waves crash along the island.

Day 8: New Bedford, Massachusetts

In the mid-19th century, New Bedford reigned supreme as the epicenter of global whaling, capturing the imagination of Herman Melville and inspiring his legendary novel, Moby Dick, which hit the shelves in 1841.

Today, New Bedford proudly holds onto its title as "The Whaling City," complete with a scenic waterfront lined with historic cobblestone streets, contrasting with the modern vessels bobbing in its busy harbor. Public art and colorful murals dot the landscape, adding vibrancy to the old whaling capital, while green spaces create peaceful retreats amidst the urban environment.

New Bedford Whaling Historical Park Walk – Complimentary Excursion
New Bedford was the mid-19th century’s preeminent whaling port and for a time “the richest city in the world.”  Enjoy a leisurely stroll through New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park.
