Sequoia Lodge sits on the slopes of Mount Lofty overlooking the Piccadilly Valley. Mount Lofty is about 700 m (2,297 ft) higher than the Adelaide Plains, and temperatures average 5 to 7°C (9 to 13°F) cooler. A 150-year-old sequoia tree stands in the lodge's central courtyard. Guests have exclusive use of the 12 ha (30 acre) Mount Lofty Estate, which borders the Mount Lofty Botanic Garden and national parkland. Four wine regions lie within 50 km (31 mi): the Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek, and Eden Valley. The area has more than 200 cellar doors. The lodge is a Relais & Chateaux member and takes guests aged 18 and over only.
