Begin an 11-day adventure in Buenos Aires before flying to Ushuaia to join SH Diana for an Antarctic Peninsula cruise. Explore the southern city at the edge of the Beagle Channel, then board your ship and head toward Antarctica. Spend time at sea using observation decks, joining lectures, improving photography skills, and connecting with other travelers. Enter the Antarctic Peninsula and navigate icy channels, large icebergs, and remote islands. Take part in landings at sites such as Petermann Island and the Lemaire Channel, where penguins, seals, and seabirds gather around research stations and frozen landscapes. Continue across open water as you return toward South America. Conclude your journey in Ushuaia, a compact Patagonian port with museums, restaurants, and views of the Martial Range.

Day 1: Buenos Aires

Arrive at the airport and head to your hotel. Relax, and spend the overnight here preparing for your adventure.

Please note that specific hotel and location to be announced.

Day 2: Ushuaia | Embark

In the morning, join the group and transfer to the airport. Fly from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia and hop on the group transfer to the port. Afterward, embark on SH Diana for your Polar adventure.

Set at the base of the Martial Range, Ushuaia’s bright streets and varied buildings stretch down from the mountains and stop at the Beagle Channel. As one of the southernmost cities on the planet, it reflects its “end of the world” identity through its shifting weather and stark scenery. Step onto your boutique ship and begin your passage through one of the most remote and striking wilderness areas on Earth.

Day 3-4: At Sea

Sea days are rarely dull. Take the time to sit back and let the world go by. The ship’s observation decks provide stunning views of the passing ocean. A day at sea gives you the opportunity to mingle with other passengers and share your experiences of this incredible trip or head to the library which is stocked full of reference books. Get an expert’s view in one of the on-board lectures or perhaps perfect your photography skills with invaluable advice from the onboard professional photographers.

Day 5-8: Antarctic Peninsula

Among captivating glaciers, majestic icebergs, and snowy islands, the Antarctic Peninsula is where most visitors to the White Continent will live out their Antarctica dream. The Antarctic Peninsula, the most accessible area of the continent, hosts several scientific bases and some of the most interesting wildlife scenery, such as the extremely photogenic Lemaire Channel. Shore excursions might include Petermann Island, where among Adelie penguins, blue-eyed shags, and skuas, huge, lumbering elephant seals haul out.

Day 9-10: At Sea

Sea days are rarely dull. Take the time to sit back and let the world go by. The ship’s observation decks provide stunning views of the passing ocean. A day at sea gives you the opportunity to mingle with other passengers and share your experiences of this incredible trip or head to the library which is stocked full of reference books. Get an expert’s view in one of the on-board lectures or perhaps perfect your photography skills with invaluable advice from the onboard professional photographers.

Day 11: Ushuaia | Disembark | Fly to Buenos Aires

  • 1 Breakfast
Ushuaia is the gateway to the White Continent. Found at the southernmost tip of South America in Argentinian Patagonia, the city is often described as “the End of the World”. The city’s mountain backdrop rises above the harbor and entrance to the Beagle Channel. The town itself is walkable and has a few small museums, pubs, restaurants, and cafes - a good place to try Patagonian lamb cooked over open fire pits.

On this day, make your farewell to your fellow travelers and crew. Head to the airport via the group transfer provided and then catch the flight to Buenos Aires.

Beyond expectations! Then again we weren't sure what to expect. Lovely stay at the lodge, met other like-minded travelers (many had their trips planned by Adventure Life) and the owner was a gracious hostess. It felt like you were one happy family, visiting with a favorite aunt.
