A charter flight takes you from Keflavik, Iceland, to Kangerlussuaq, Greenland. By bus, go to the harbor. The MS Seaventure is anchored in Kangerlussuaq. Zodiac dinghies carry out embarkation before your sea voyage begins in the evening.
Just 200 people live in the small town of Attu, near Disko Bay. Use the day for a hike through the unique nature and, with a bit of luck, observe the local wildlife up close.
On the morning of day three, experience the mighty Equip Glacier before arriving in Quillissat. Quillissat is an abandoned coal-mining town founded in 1924. Coalmines were active until 1972. You can get to know this city and its breathtaking nature with various hikes.
When conditions are favorable, travel along the 70-mile (112 km) long Prince Christian Sound, which connects the Labrador and Irminger Seas. In this narrow, often ice-choked channel, you come so close to icebergs you can almost reach out and touch one. The force of Greenland's massive inland ice cap pushes glaciers towards the sea, where large chunks of ice break off and become floating icebergs.
In the morning, drive through the Karrat Fjord. With some luck, you can see icebergs calving as you go through the fjord landscape - an impressive and breathtaking experience. In the afternoon, anchor in front of Nuugaatsiaq, a place with a tragic history: in 2017, the village was hit by an enormous tsunami. The area has not been inhabited since then.
Iceland’s East Fjords are best explored from the impossibly picturesque port of Seydisfjordur, nestled between the sea and steep mountains. Optional activities include seal spotting, horseback riding, and visiting the beautiful sights of the Eastfjords.
Many years ago, the town you visited today was a fishing and trading town. Nowadays, there are only around 100 inhabitants in the picturesque fishing village.
Discover Kangerlussuaq with exciting shore excursions before continuing your cruise in the evening. On this leg, an intense and extraordinary journey along Greenland's west coast awaits you.
The small village of Qeqertarsuaq is located on the southern side of Disko Island. The Danish name of the settlement is Godhavn, which translates as "Good Harbor." The name is due to the favorable location and the abundance of whales in the bay.
In the morning, reach Ilulissat village in the fabled Disko Bay. Ilulissat, located beside the Ilulissat Icefjord. Delight in the thunderous spectacle when icebergs break off the glacier and plunge into the fjord. Sermeq Kujalleq is one of the most productive glaciers in the northern hemisphere.
Sisimiut has a turbulent history, especially during the 18th century when the first Danish colony was destroyed by Dutch whalers who wanted to establish their settlement. The Danes fought back and eventually recaptured Sisimiut after several fierce battles in the 1730s. Heavy fighting between Dutch whalers and various European nations occurred over the years. Because of its flourishing shrimp industry, Sisimiut is one of Greenland’s most prosperous cities today.
With 16,000 inhabitants, Nuuk is both the capital and the biggest city of Greenland. It combines Arctic traditions with European urbanity. Visit the city sights on a walking tour that ends at the National Museum, which exhibits the famous mummies of Qilakitsoq.
Today, visit the Ikka Fjord. When the water is calm, you can discover unique columnar mineral formations on the seabed. Calcium carbonate compounds formed the columns over 10,000 years ago, providing a unique habitat.

Follow the same maritime route Norse settlers used more than 900 years ago as you sail across the Denmark Strait toward Greenland. En route, you can attend fascinating presentations by the Expedition Team members to prepare for your visit to Greenland. Or, of course, you can relax and watch whales, dolphins, and seabirds from the deck or your cabin.
The island has several glaciers, jagged peaks, rivers, lakes, and waterfalls. There are vast green valleys and deep fjords with newly calved icebergs dropping off the ice cap into the sea. Tasiilaq, the largest town in East Greenland, is on Ammassalik Island. With approximately 2,000 people, the town is the gateway to exploring East Greenland.
On the penultimate day, cross the Denmark Strait, heading for Iceland. As early as 900 years ago, Nordic settlers used this route to travel to Greenland.

This was my first experience with Adventure Life - and I couldn't have been more pleased with the trip. The guides and local staff in both Buenos Aires and Uruguay were terrific - extremely helpful and accommodating. I really enjoyed meeting the friendly staff in Buenos Aires in person (I left my bags with them for the afternoon).
