The Ungava Polar Ecotour experience begins from Montreal, Canada. Get ready for a unique and exciting journey as you embark on your first flight of the day from Montreal to Kuujjuaq. In just 2 hours and 20 minutes, you'll arrive at your destination, where a friendly team member will be waiting to greet and assist you with your luggage transfer to the Twin-otter aircraft. From there, your adventure continues as you make your way to Tiercel Island site, where you'll be welcomed by the team upon arrival at the runway. From the runway, you will have the option to ride to camp or hike the short distance and stretch your legs. Get ready to begin a week-long expedition filled with excitement, adventure, and breathtaking scenery. As you settle into your accommodation, the site coordinator will provide a briefing to ensure you're fully prepared for the busy days ahead. What better way to kick off your adventure than with a delicious dinner and drinks by the fire, while bonding with your fellow travelers and sharing stories, before a good night's rest.
The first full day of adventure will start with an amazing boat tour around the Gyrfalcon Islands. It will be the perfect occasion for all the guests to view and photograph wildlife, such as polar bears, muskoxen, caribous, seals, birds, and even whales. Your guide will be there to help spot these various creatures as you cruise along the inlets and coastline and assist with photographing these encounters.
Today will start with a hike to explore the island with one of your experienced Inuk guides. Guests will discover and learn about the Inuk culture while exploring the different sites visited. It will be the perfect opportunity for the guest to completely immerse themselves in nature and experience the sounds of the land.
Still accompanied by one of the experienced Inuk guides, all guests will once again set off to explore the island, this time on a fat bike for a completely different experience. Thanks to the bikes, guests will have the chance to cover the distance of the whole island, exploring farther locations that could not be reached on foot.
The fifth day will be reserved for another boating excursion around the islands for another chance to view the ever-changing landscapes and more opportunities to spot wildlife. Boating provides the most opportunities to observe the wildlife undisturbed in their natural environment and is often the highlight of your time at Ungava.
An ATV tour of the island and a boat ride to take the final look at the landscape will mark the last day of adventure. A delicious gastronomic meal will be served, followed by drinks under the northern lights (if active) and next to a warm fire. Share stories and photos of your week with other guests as you prepare to head back to Montreal in the morning.
Day 7: Fly Kuujjuaq to Montreal | Return Home
1 Breakfast

The trip was terrific with great planning on your part. Most of the adventures were not mainstream and somewhat off the beaten path which made it especially enjoyable!! We felt taken care of and you all were readily available to respond to questions and issues. I would highly recommend your company and friends have already expressed interest based on our pictures and excitement.

The response from Adventure Life to my first inquiry was prompt and promising. I worked with Jamie Broeckel, Trip Planner, via text, email, and phone calls- always extremely responsive and thorough with information and explaining the process to arrange a private tour for me to Malaysia Borneo. Within about week, the booking was complete and I made decisions because of Jamie's great customer service , friendly manner, and overall competence on behalf of the company's travel expertise. Now I have an itinerary, additional Trip Planner Assistants, several links for vital information for traveling to Maylasia, etc. Still many details for Sept. trip, but now the heavy lifting is done and I can enjoy the rest of the anticipation and research!! Thanks Jamie- you are amazing!!!!

The trip was not only memorable for the amount of animals we saw but also for the people and accommodations at the two camps where we stayed. Our first guide, BK, was a wealth of information about the animals, landscape and down to the plants and what they were used for. Everyday out was a learning experience with him. All the people at the camps were gracious and the food was excellent.
Our second camp in the Okavanga was just as good as the first as far as the staff, accommodations, food and animals. After our experience at the first camp we amazed that the high quality remained the same. Our guide, G, made sure we were able to enjoy every experience including a rush through the bush to witness a cheetah and an ensuing hunt that he heard over his radio.
In both camps there were enough guides out that if they saw something the other guides were informed which helped in seeing as much as possible. It was also nice that the concessions were large enough that we did not have vehicles following each other throughout the day.
Normally there is always something in a trip of this length that we think could be improved upon but this is the rare case where we cannot think of anything. From the time we left the States to when we returned it was one of the most hassle free vacations we took.
Perhaps emphasizing the use of the laundry facilities at the camps would be useful because of the luggage restrictions would be the only thing I can think of as an improvement to future clients.
