Visit the capital of Granada, St George's which is surrounded by the hillside of an old volcano crater. The official language of this town is English and the population on the island is approximately 33,000 inhabitants. Travel to the well-known underwater sculptures or tour the house of Chocolate in downtown St George's. Additionally, there is a surplus of fantastic beaches throughout St. George's, including Magazine Beach, Morne Rouge Beach, Pink Gin Beach, and Sandals Grenada; throughout all of which you may be able to see turtles! Cruise the Caribbean on a small ship cruise in order to reap the benefits of being able to access smaller reefs, coves, ports, and beaches. You can also combine your cruise to St. George's with a cruise to the greater Caribbean! Contact our travel experts to start planning your personalized trip today!
Between late November and December is the best time to visit St. George's. The temperature is comfortable with averages around 75-80 (24-27 Celsius) and there aren't too many crowds as the high season is just commencing. At the end of November you may experience a few rainy days; but they're infrequent and don't last long. Lodging and airfare prices will also be considerably less expensive during these months which can be a major upside.
Between January and April is the most popular time to visit Grenada. The temperature is fairly hot with averages in the mid 80's (around 29 Celsius). Everything on the island will be in full swing but this is the high season so hotels and activities will be at their most expensive. Additionally, there will be crowds throughout the popular destinations on the island.
Between May and mid-November crowds shrivel and some hotels will be closed as the country begins preparing for hurricane season which lasts from July until September. That being said, some hotels in St. George's are still open with extremely reduced rates: but if you choose to travel during this time you should expect a lot of rain along with the island's greenery in its prime. If you travel, especially during these months, it's highly recommended that you purchase travel insurance for any emergencies.
For our first trip to Costa Rica, Adventure Life designed a tour that meets the interests, ecological and adventure, of our party; but also takes into account our physical limitations sine we are all septuagenarian. We are looking forward to the trip.
