Designed over 100 years ago, the Plaza has unique architecture and a historic atmosphere, which gives guests a special experience and comfortable stay. Our country guide Guerlin and each of our local guides across the country were superlative. The instructions for obtaining visas were very clear and the pre-trip questions we asked were promptly answered. Our itinerary was well selected. The American dollar is much more acceptable to everyone in Cuba than the Cuban peso. It is unwise to change your money to pesos. Apparently, Americans are required to stay in a particular hotel when they are in Havana, Fortunately, outside of Havana one can stay in casitas or private farm based bed-and-breakfast lodgings with very delicious large dinners as well as the breakfasts.
