Be prepared to discover the beautiful biodiversity the Amazon Rainforest hides in its forests and creeks. Most of the excursions will take place in the terra firme forest. You will experience the forest floor by yourself and the assembly of colors, sounds, and scents that are found there. During the hikes and excursions, a native and bilingual guide will always be with the group to show you the secrets of the jungle.

Moderately active but not overly strenuous. This level includes activities like casual cycling, yoga, or excursions/activities that typically last 3-5 hours total each day.
Begin this amazing adventure with a 30-minute flight to Coca, flying over the beautiful eastern Andes mountain range. Once you land, a short 5-minute drive takes you to the port on the Napo River, where you board a comfortable covered motor boat. From here, enjoy a leisurely boat ride along the Napo for approximately 2 hours, with the opportunity to spot various birds along the way.
Upon reaching the welcoming area of the Napo Wildlife Center, you have the chance to take a magical and peaceful 2-hour dugout canoe ride along a narrow creek that connects to the lake where the lodge is situated. This serene canoe ride offers excellent chances to observe wildlife, including different species of monkeys and large birds like toucans, parrots, and even macaws. Finally, you arrive at the lodge in the late afternoon, ready to begin your adventure.
After enjoying a buffet breakfast, you can have an amazing experience above the forest floor by visiting the 36-meter canopy tower. This tower is located deep within the forest, about 30 minutes away from the lodge. You'll have the opportunity to observe a wide variety of bird species, such as colorful tanagers, macaws, toucans, flycatchers, and even Spider or Howler Monkeys feeding on the nearby trees. The canopy tower provides guests of the Napo Wildlife Center with a whole new world to explore.
Once you return to the lodge, a delicious typical Ecuadorian lunch will be waiting for you. After lunch, you'll have several options to choose from before starting the afternoon activity. You can climb the central tower for birdwatching or simply relax in your hammock.
In the afternoon, go on a hike through a marvelous terra-firme forest to discover the fascinating ecology and the important role of plants in the complex world of the Tropical Rainforest. Encounter impressive sights such as vines, ancient trees, bromeliads, and orchids in this natural garden. After the hike, explore the nearby creeks, where you might even have the chance to spot a family of Giant Otters. At 7:30 pm, a delicious dinner will be served, offering a delightful end to your day.
Wake up early in the morning to visit the easiest access parrot clay licks in Ecuador. It takes about 1 hour to reach the clay licks from the lodge. Guests arrive just before 7:30 to 8:30 when the parrot activity begins at the clay lick. You can see a total of 11 species of parrots, parakeets, and macaws.
Afterward, take a hike along a forest trail to visit the Kichwa Interpretation Center called "Kuri Muyu." The center is managed by the women of the community, also known as "mamakuna." Here, you can learn about the Kichwa culture, crafts, customs, and traditional use of natural resources. Then, return to the creek and continue hiking through the Terra Firme Forest for about 30 minutes until you reach the second parrot clay lick. If the weather conditions are favorable, you may spot different species of parrots, parakeets, and even macaws. Enjoy lunch during this time. Afterward, you'll be paddled back to the lodge, arriving in the late afternoon. A delicious dinner will be waiting for you at the lodge to end your day.
This morning, go on a hike along the Tiputini trail, which takes you through the terra-firma forests and swamp forests. Keep an eye out for various wildlife, such as Golden-Mantled Tamarins, White-Faced capuchin monkeys, two and three-toed sloths, pigmy squirrels, and carnivores. You might also spot their tracks on the forest floor.
After the hike, return to the lodge for a delicious lunch and some well-deserved rest. In the afternoon, hop on canoes and venture into the deeper areas of the surrounding creeks, offering even more opportunities to see unique wildlife. After dinner, there will be a talk where you can learn more about the local community and the Napo Wildlife Center. It's a great opportunity to engage in conversation and gain insights into the area.

Kate was great to work with in the planning stage. She was prompt, helpful, and efficient. Our tour guide, Edwin, was knowledgeable and passionate. We were very happy to have traveled with Adventure Life, it made the trip easy and a true pleasure. We could concentrate on enjoying the experience rather than the details of travel.

The trip was not only memorable for the amount of animals we saw but also for the people and accommodations at the two camps where we stayed. Our first guide, BK, was a wealth of information about the animals, landscape and down to the plants and what they were used for. Everyday out was a learning experience with him. All the people at the camps were gracious and the food was excellent.
Our second camp in the Okavanga was just as good as the first as far as the staff, accommodations, food and animals. After our experience at the first camp we amazed that the high quality remained the same. Our guide, G, made sure we were able to enjoy every experience including a rush through the bush to witness a cheetah and an ensuing hunt that he heard over his radio.
In both camps there were enough guides out that if they saw something the other guides were informed which helped in seeing as much as possible. It was also nice that the concessions were large enough that we did not have vehicles following each other throughout the day.
Normally there is always something in a trip of this length that we think could be improved upon but this is the rare case where we cannot think of anything. From the time we left the States to when we returned it was one of the most hassle free vacations we took.
Perhaps emphasizing the use of the laundry facilities at the camps would be useful because of the luggage restrictions would be the only thing I can think of as an improvement to future clients.
