Traveling along the Douro on this incredible 8-day cruise is the perfect way to visit this beautiful, natural part of the world where steeply terraced hillside vineyards, typical villages, and “Quintas” with their fragrant wines appear along the banks throughout the cruise. Visit Salamanca in Spain, also listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and rich in architectural treasures dating back through the ages. Listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the Douro River, the “river of gold”, does not recognize country boundaries and flows majestically through both Portugal and Spain.
