Have a free afternoon to explore this fascinating capital city on your own. In December, enjoy the many Christmas festivities and attractions in the city by coach. Return to the ship for a gala evening and dinner. Depending on the water level of the river, cruise to the business district of La Défense in the course of the evening. Return to the previous quay in Paris.

Located at the very heart of a 19th-century village, the Sacré-Coeur Basilica has remained one of the favorite models for all-time painters, sculptors, and poets alike. Enjoy free time in Paris this afternoon. Since the ship docked just a few minutes' walk from the Eiffel Tower and the Trocadéro gardens, and the Invalides is just a little further away, it is easy to visit Paris at your leisure. You'll cruise through Paris by night (depending on the water level), floating through the beautifully illuminated city, particularly attractive when viewed from our vantage point on the Seine.

The trip was terrific with great planning on your part. Most of the adventures were not mainstream and somewhat off the beaten path which made it especially enjoyable!!
