Hotel Arctic

Hotel Arctic stands on the rocky shoreline of the Ilulissat Icefjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2004. The fjord is fed by one of the most active glaciers in the world, which moves forward about 40 m (131 ft) per day and produces roughly 10 percent of the icebergs that drift out to sea from Greenland. The hotel is part of the Air Greenland group, and its interiors combine Nordic design with original Greenlandic handicrafts. The hotel holds Green Key certification and publishes a CSR policy. Its kitchens are in daily contact with local fishers and sealers, and the chefs build seasonal menus around Greenlandic cooking traditions and local ingredients. Every room looks out over the Icefjord and Disko Bay, the port, or the town of Ilulissat.

Rooms & Suites
Hotel Arctic has 97 rooms across three wings, Puisi, Qajaq, and Umiaq, plus Aurora Cabins on the mountainside and hotel apartments in an adjacent building. All rooms include free Wi-Fi, a TV with international channels, a telephone, a radio with alarm clock, a desk, an iron and ironing board, and a coffee and tea set. Bathrooms have underfloor heating, a hairdryer, and toiletries, and extra pillows are available. 

Hotel Amenities & Facilities
The hotel has two restaurants. Brasserie Ulo serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Restaurant Ulo, on the first floor, serves a fixed fine-dining tasting menu Monday to Saturday, with optional wine pairings and reservations required at least 24 hours ahead. Reception is staffed 24 hours a day and sells local artisan souvenirs, and a kiosk is open most of the day. The hotel also has a conference centre, luggage storage, packed lunches on request, and a heated outdoor smoking area. Transfers run to and from the airport and port, the local bus stops at the main entrance every 30 minutes, and taxis can be booked at reception.
