Day 1: Arrive in Sisimiut | Hotel Søma

Welcome to Sisimiut! After getting your luggage, transfer to Hotel Søma, where you will stay for 6 nights. While driving to the hotel, enjoy the view of the harbor and the mountain around Sisimiut. After checking in, the receptionist will explain the program of your stay. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 2: Sail to Assaqutaq | Catch and Cook Activity

Start your day with a sailing adventure. Transfer to the harbor, meet your captain, and board your vessel. From the harbor, start on a unique journey to the abandoned settlement of Assaqutaq, located on an island 13 km east of Sisimiut. In 30 minutes, step ashore and explore its empty buildings as your captain shares its history. On the return trip to Sisimiut, keep watch for whales and seals.

After visiting Assaqutaq and enjoying your lunch break, it's time to continue your journey and catch your dinner like the locals! Head out with the captain to his favorite fishing spots around Sisimiut. Once back at Hotel Søma, the chef will prepare your fish, serving it with fries and salad in the cafeteria. It’s fresh, local, and yours to enjoy!

Day 3: Exploring Sisimiut

Start your day with a large brunch buffet in the cafeteria. In the late morning, a local guide will meet you in front of the hotel for a 2-hour guided tour through the best part of Sisimiut. The tour will end at the museum, just in front of Hotel Søma, where you can experience the many layers of the history of Sisimiut and its surroundings and also visit the old colonial buildings. In the evening, enjoy a quiet and relaxing time in the Arctic spa and sauna.

Day 4: Return Home

Enjoy your last breakfast at Hotel Søma, savoring the final moments in this extraordinary setting before transferring to the airport. Finish your journey and treasured memories of the Sisimiut summer journey while taking in the pristine beauty of the Arctic and getting back in touch with nature.
