Day 1: Arrive in Venice

Upon arrival at Venice airport, transfer to your hotel by private water taxi across the famous Grand Canal, the city’s main street, lined with marble palazzi and dotted with drifting gondolas. Settle into your hotel and dine at a local restaurant tonight.

Day 2: Venice

Take a private walking tour of the surrounding promenades and canals. Reach the heart of the city, Piazza San Marco, called by Napoleon the “most elegant drawing room in Europe.” An inside visit to the Basilica reveals its amazing Medieval golden mosaics and treasures. After your lunch, join a private workshop with an expert artisan and learn about the techniques and all the secrets of mask-making. Test your creativity, and then your Venetian mask will be shipped home. Cap off your day with a traditional Venetian aperitivo at a local wine bar serving cicchetti, small snacks unique to Venice.

Day 3: Venice

Cruise to Murano and learn about Murano's long tradition of glassmaking dating to the 13th century. Enjoy a private visit to an exclusive glassblowing factory to see artisans creating exquisite objects. Enjoy a special wine tasting on the island of Mazzorbo, home to a vineyard that has been able to overcome the challenge of the high tide for centuries, giving rise to a wine with characteristics that are unique. Cap off your day after an independent lunch strolling colorful Burano before returning to Venice for one last afternoon at leisure.

Day 4: Florence

After breakfast, take a private transfer to Venice railway station to board a high-speed train to Florence. Check in to your hotel and, in the afternoon, take a private walking tour of the historic center. In Piazza della Repubblica, discover the city’s beginnings as a Roman settlement. Wander through narrow streets past the fortified houses and towers that marked the medieval town, and emerge onto the open piazza della Signoria, the political center of the city since the Middle Ages. See the Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio, and cap off your visit with a cappuccino tasting at one of the best pastry shops in town.

Day 5: Florence

  • Hotel
  • 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch
Today, browse the food stalls of a local market, where locals shop for fresh produce. With the help of your Florentine chef, pick out the ingredients for your private cooking class. Continue to the kitchen and learn to make regional specialties with a special focus on pasta, then feast on your creations for lunch. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure.

Day 6: Florence | Colle di Val d'Elsa, Siena

Visit the Accademia Gallery in the company of an art historian guide. Since its creation, it has been specifically designed to house works of art of great value, and its spectacular architecture proves it. It is home to Michelangelo's David, one of the most famous works of art from the Renaissance. The magnificent Renaissance monument of David from the Bible became a standout for the Florentine Republic. A private transfer will take you from one final relaxing lunch in Florence to the walled hilltop jewel of San Gimignano, a World Heritage site with 14 charming medieval towers. Enjoy a guided visit to the enchanting town, or choose to set out on a leisurely bike ride through the vineyards and the surrounding countryside. Continue to the Tuscan countryside and check into your boutique hotel.

Day 7: Colle di Val d'Elsa, Siena

Explore a Sienese contrada, or district, and its hidden treasures and traditions: the stable, the archive, the bursar. This place is where the maintenance of the costumes happens, where the drums are conserved, where the silk flags are sewn, and where the seamstresses and the flag bearers spend a few afternoons of the week working as they did a century ago. Discover the slow life that still characterizes Siena, and meet and talk to the locals on a unique walking tour. Lunch and the afternoon are at leisure to explore Siena independently. Head back to the hotel for dinner.

Day 8: Siena | Florence | Rome

After breakfast, take a private transfer to Florence railway station to board a high-speed train to Rome. Upon arrival, a private transfer will take you to your accommodation in the heart of the Eternal City. In the afternoon, meet your art historian guide and explore the Baroque historic center of the city: Piazza del Popolo, Via Margutta, the street of art galleries and ateliers, the magnificent Piazza di Spagna with its iconic Steps; the Barcaccia fountain in the center, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and Piazza Navona.

Day 9: Rome

Rise early to see the Sistine Chapel. Marvel at two of the world’s most spectacular masterpieces: Michelangelo’s Genesis ceiling frescoes and his Last Judgment altar fresco. Visit the Vatican Museums, St. Peter’s Square, and St. Peter’s Basilica—home to treasured Renaissance artwork by masters like Michelangelo, Raphael, and Bernini. After lunch on your own, explore ancient Rome at the Arch of Constantine and the iconic Colosseum.

Day 10: Return Home

  • 1 Breakfast
After breakfast, you will transfer to FCO Airport to catch your flight home.

This was my first experience with Adventure Life - and I couldn't have been more pleased with the trip. The guides and local staff in both Buenos Aires and Uruguay were terrific - extremely helpful and accommodating. I really enjoyed meeting the friendly staff in Buenos Aires in person (I left my bags with them for the afternoon).
