Arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and meet a representative and driver guide for a short safari briefing. Transfer to Palacina The Residence & The Suites for a relaxing first night in Kenya’s capital on a bed and breakfast stay.
Nairobi sits along the Nairobi River and serves as the main gateway to African safari adventures. The city is known for its modern culture, busy markets, and close access to wildlife. Nairobi National Park lies just outside the center with lions, buffalo, and other animals living near the city skyline. The city also features popular attractions such as the National Museum, Karen Blixen Museum, and the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust elephant orphanage.
Overnight at Palacina The Residence & The Suites, a boutique hotel in the State House area. The property features serviced apartments and premium suites designed for comfort after long travel. Enjoy a calm space in a busy city with access to a country-style breakfast and on-site Bistro restaurant for simple meals and warm hospitality.
Early breakfast and drive north to Nanyuki, with a stop at The Trout Tree Restaurant for lunch. The restaurant sits around a large fig tree along the Burguret River and serves fresh trout and simple meals with views of Mount Kenya.
Continue to Ol Pejeta Conservancy for an afternoon game drive. Ol Pejeta is known as the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and protects endangered species, including the last northern white rhinos. The conservancy also supports a rescued chimpanzee sanctuary and offers learning at the education center. Wildlife includes elephant, lion, cheetah, leopard, Grevy’s zebra, and other northern species. A stop is made to feed Baraka, the blind black rhino, as part of wildlife conservation programs.
Check in at Ol Pejeta Safari Cottages for dinner and overnight. The cottages sit along an acacia-lined river, offering a private setting inside the conservancy. Accommodation features one- and two-bedroom cottages with en-suite bathrooms, lounge areas, and furnished verandas. A private chef, waiter, and housekeeper provide simple, attentive service throughout the stay.
Start the day with a morning game drive across Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a leading wildlife area known for black rhino protection and the Big Five. Open plains, river areas, and woodlands provide regular sightings of elephant, lion, buffalo, and rare northern species such as Grevy’s zebra and beisa oryx.
After lunch and rest at the cottages, continue with an afternoon game drive to explore more of the conservancy’s wildlife and active conservation work. Guided activities highlight how endangered animals are protected in this important region of Laikipia.
Return to Ol Pejeta Safari Cottages for dinner and overnight. The private cottages feature en-suite rooms, lounge spaces, and friendly service for a calm and comfortable stay inside the conservancy.
After breakfast, drive north toward Samburu and enter Buffalo Springs National Reserve. The area forms part of three adjoining reserves and is known for dry terrain, rugged hills, and wildlife along the Ewaso Ngiro River. Arrival at Surana Buffalo Springs is in time for lunch, followed by a short check-in briefing at the camp.
Spend the afternoon on a game drive inside the reserve. Buffalo Springs is home to the rare northern species group, including reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, and beisa oryx. Leopard sightings, big cats, elephants, and buffalo are also common in this region. Scenic views of Mount Koitogor and Mount Ololokwe add to the northern Kenya landscape.
Return to Surana Buffalo Springs before dusk for dinner and overnight. The tented camp features private plunge pools, views of the river and hills, and simple comfort with dining, a bar, swimming pool, and spa facilities on site.
After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for a scheduled flight to the Masai Mara. Touch down in one of Africa’s most famous wildlife areas and meet the safari guide for a game drive transfer to the camp. The Masai Mara forms part of the greater ecosystem shared with the Serengeti and is known for wide grass plains, big cats, and the annual Great Migration when large herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles cross the Mara River.
Arrive at Zebra River Camp for lunch and time to settle in. The camp sits along the Talek River, offering views of hippos, crocodiles, and plains game nearby. In the afternoon, continue with a game drive inside the reserve to look for lions, elephants, giraffes, and other wildlife before returning to camp at dusk for dinner and overnight.
Overnight at Zebra River Camp, a small luxury tented camp with spacious rooms, a family tent option, and a main area featuring comfortable lounges and a bar. The calm forest setting provides simple comfort while enjoying safari activities in the Masai Mara.
Begin the day with a morning game drive inside the Masai Mara, a reserve known for one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. Big cats such as lion, leopard, and cheetah are commonly seen here, along with elephants, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, and plains game across open grassland and river areas.
Optional activity available at extra cost: a sunrise hot-air balloon safari with Balloon Safaris Limited. The flight offers a wider view of the Mara plains followed by a bush breakfast after landing.
Return to Zebra River Camp for lunch and rest during the middle of the day. In the afternoon, head out again on a game drive to continue exploring the reserve before returning to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Fly to Nairobi | Return Home
1 Breakfast
After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for a scheduled flight to Wilson Airport in Nairobi. Meet the ground representative on arrival and transfer to Four Points by Sheraton Nairobi Airport for day room use before the international departure.
Lunch is at own arrangement at the hotel. Later, transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport using the hotel’s complimentary shuttle service for outbound flights and the end of the safari adventure.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
