Maison Gallieni

Maison Gallieni occupies a house built in 1879 on a former granite quarry. The building was originally the headquarters of the first bank established in Madagascar. Today it runs as a small guesthouse with four rooms and a mix of indoor and outdoor shared spaces. The interiors pair a contemporary style with brick, wood, and stone throughout. Its position on Faravohitra hill gives views over the city, and a granite rock covered in vegetation rises beside the house. Faravohitra Church, built in 1868, is nearby, and the covered Analakely market and Avenue de l’Indépendance are close by. The property collects rainwater for reuse.

Rooms & Suites
Maison Gallieni has four rooms. Three are on the ground floor and one is on the first floor. All rooms are non-smoking and have air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, a telephone, an in-room safe, and free Wi-Fi. Each room has a kettle with tea and coffee. Every room has an en-suite bathroom with an Italian-style walk-in shower. Some rooms can be set up with twin beds on request.

Hotel Amenities & Facilities
The guesthouse has no restaurant or bar. Instead, it serves homemade breakfast in the dining room or on the veranda, and an on-site cook prepares family-style lunches and dinners for an additional charge. Non-alcoholic drinks are complimentary, except fresh fruit juice. The ground floor has the reception, an outdoor lounge, a heated swimming pool, and a garden. The first floor has a lounge with a fireplace, the dining room, and a veranda. Wi-Fi covers the house and the garden. On request, guests can arrange massages, laundry, printer use, airport transfers, and car rental.
