Hotel Thamel House

The hotel is built around a restaurant building roughly 150 years old, originally constructed for a Newari family and featuring traditional craftsmen's work, including a carved peacock window (mayur jhya) and wooden panel ceilings. Hotel Thamel House combines this Newari architectural heritage with modern comforts, positioning itself as a contrast to the concrete, Western-style lodges that now dominate much of Thamel. A second property, Hotel Patan House, operates near Patan Durbar Square in a similarly restored traditional Newari building, though it is managed as a separate address.
