Day 1: Amsterdam | Embark

Board the MS Gérard Schmitter at 6:00 p.m. in Amsterdam. After comfortably settling into your cabin, meet the crew at a welcome cocktail. Enjoy dinner on board, followed by a tour of Amsterdam on a canal boat. The city’s name comes from its origins: it grew around a dam on the Amstel River. Remain in port overnight.

*Passengers will choose either the Classic or Discovery package to participate in for the duration of the voyage.

Day 2: Amsterdam

Today's excursions are:

Classic: Guided tour of Amsterdam and visit to a diamond merchant.

Discovery: Bike tour in Amsterdam. Explore and learn about all the must-see and out-of-the-way sites.

Spend all afternoon sailing towards Lemmer.

Day 3: Lemmer | Enkhuizen

This morning, a guided tour of Giethoorn, a charming lakeside town, followed by a boat ride on the canals.
Cruise on the IJsselmeer, one of the largest inland freshwater lakes in Holland. Reach Enkhuizen in the afternoon.
Enjoy time at leisure to discover Enkhuizen on your own. The Zuiderzee Museum gives you a glimpse of everyday life in those former fishing harbors 

Day 4: Hoorn | Amsterdam

This morning's excursions are:

Classic: Guided tour of Alkmaar and its Cheese Museum.

Discovery: Bike tour on the polders and guided visit of an old windmill from the 17th century which is still in operation.

Spend this afternoon cruising on the Markermeer towards Amsterdam.

Day 5: Amsterdam

Spend the morning cruising to Amsterdam. Join a tour of the Keukenhof Gardens (open from March 24 to May 16). Each spring, there are more than 7 million bulbs in bloom with a total of 800 varieties of tulips. When the gardens are not open, you can have a tour of Volendam, well known for its Dutch seafood specialties, especially for smoked eel. Then head for Zaanse Schans, an open air museum with wooden windmills, barns, and houses. Enjoy a free evening, or why not discover the famous Red Light District through an optional tour (book and pay on board).

Day 6: Amsterdam | Disembark

Enjoy one last buffet breakfast on board before disembarking at 9:00 a.m.
