Welcome to Edinburgh. Transfer to Leith where passengers board Scenic Eclipse to start the cruise to the Arctic. Meet the Captain, crew, and the Discovery Team before setting sail for the adventure.
Please book a flight to arrive in Edinburgh prior to 02:00 PM.
Today, relax on board. With the many choices available on board, one will be surprised at how quickly time passes. Choose one of the daily activities, join an entertaining discussion in the theatre, or immerse oneself in the Nordic bathing experiences.
The most northerly point of the British Isles, Lerwick's waterfront is lined with sandstone buildings dating back to the 18th century. The sound of traditional Shetland music can often be heard while walking through the twisting lanes of this charming harbour town
Cruise to Norway's second-largest city, the Hanseatic fishing port of Bergen, surrounded by seven hills. One of the prettiest cities in Norway, Bergen dates back to the 12th century. Admire the many multi-coloured wooden buildings, by far the most iconic sight to greet any visitor to Bergen. As a UNESCO World Heritage City and a European City of Culture, the Bergen region has an ideal balance of nature, culture, and urban life.
Cruise along Sognefjord, the largest fjord in Norway, and one will soon see why it deserves the nickname of 'King of the Fjords'. At its deepest, Sognefjord plunges more than 1,300 meters while the spectacular mountains rise on either side. Pass through the village of Vikoyri before making to the village of Flam in the heart of the fjord.
Be greeted by a beautiful stretch of coastline, spectacular mountains and valleys, rolling farmland, and the biggest glacier in Europe. The view is sure to steal one's breath. The mountains in Nordfjord plunge from altitudes of a few thousand meters, straight down into the fjord and the ocean, creating magnificent waterfalls.
Situated in the inner Geirangerfjord, Geiranger is one of Norway's most beautiful sights surrounded by steep mountains on either side of the fjord. It is listed as one of the most beautiful fjords in the world and is included on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Take in the magnificent surroundings bedecked with cliffs, mountains, and tranquil lakes.
Named after Norse mythology, Froya is the goddess of love and beauty. See rolling hillsides blanketed in vibrant purple heather, Scandinavian architecture scattered along the rocky coastline, and calm, sheltered inlets ready for exploration.
The second largest glacier in Norway will astound with its 370 square kilometers and shades of blue in the ice formations. It is also the lowest glacier in mainland Europe at just 20 meters above sea level, making it accessible for nature-based experiences.
Cruise along the Lofoten Islands, with dramatic peaks, sheltered coves, and pristine beaches. The archipelago is a visual feast to explore and discover. This rare wilderness offers breathtaking scenery surrounded by majestic mountains, deep fjords, seabird colonies, and picturesque fishing villages. Have morning coffee outside in the Panorama Bar and watch as the expert Captain maneuvers the ship past massive walls of mountains rising from the sea.
Day 11: Tromso | Disembark
1 Breakfast
Known as the cultural hub of the Arctic, Tromso sits 400km above the Arctic Circle in the land of the Midnight Sun. Surprisingly cosmopolitan for its remote location, during the summer Tromso is full of locals basking in the sunlight, tucking into fresh seafood on the docks, enjoying a drink at the world's most northern brewery, or taking a dip in the refreshing waters of the local beach. The cruise ends this morning after breakfast. Say farewell to the crew and disembark Scenic Eclipse for the journey home.
Please book a flight to depart from Tromso after 12:00 PM.

Good to ideal period to travel, and many people choose to visit at this time.
Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!

The response from Adventure Life to my first inquiry was prompt and promising. I worked with Jamie Broeckel, Trip Planner, via text, email, and phone calls- always extremely responsive and thorough with information and explaining the process to arrange a private tour for me to Malaysia Borneo. Within about week, the booking was complete and I made decisions because of Jamie's great customer service , friendly manner, and overall competence on behalf of the company's travel expertise. Now I have an itinerary, additional Trip Planner Assistants, several links for vital information for traveling to Maylasia, etc. Still many details for Sept. trip, but now the heavy lifting is done and I can enjoy the rest of the anticipation and research!! Thanks Jamie- you are amazing!!!!

The trip was not only memorable for the amount of animals we saw but also for the people and accommodations at the two camps where we stayed. Our first guide, BK, was a wealth of information about the animals, landscape and down to the plants and what they were used for. Everyday out was a learning experience with him. All the people at the camps were gracious and the food was excellent.
Our second camp in the Okavanga was just as good as the first as far as the staff, accommodations, food and animals. After our experience at the first camp we amazed that the high quality remained the same. Our guide, G, made sure we were able to enjoy every experience including a rush through the bush to witness a cheetah and an ensuing hunt that he heard over his radio.
In both camps there were enough guides out that if they saw something the other guides were informed which helped in seeing as much as possible. It was also nice that the concessions were large enough that we did not have vehicles following each other throughout the day.
Normally there is always something in a trip of this length that we think could be improved upon but this is the rare case where we cannot think of anything. From the time we left the States to when we returned it was one of the most hassle free vacations we took.
Perhaps emphasizing the use of the laundry facilities at the camps would be useful because of the luggage restrictions would be the only thing I can think of as an improvement to future clients.
