Embark on an 8-day Svalbard cruise aboard MV Vikingfjord begins and ends in Longyearbyen. Sail past the bird cliffs of Fuglefjella and explore the alpine landscape of Alkhornet. Day 1: Longyearbyen | Embark

Sail past Fuglefjella (Bird Mountain), a plateau-shaped mountain near Longyearbyen known for its bird populations.

Day 2: Alkhornet | Poolepynten

Alkhornet, located at the entrance of Isfjorden, marks a shift in geology from flat plateau terrain to steep, alpine mountains. Poolepynten is a headland on Prins Karls Forland known for its walrus colony and a nearby burial site.

Day 3: Ice Edge

Search the ice edge, a dynamic setting of texture and light, home to seals, seabirds, and polar bears.

Day 4-7: Sallyhamna | Camp Zoe | Return to Longyearbyen

Land at Sallyhamna, a hut built in 1937, rich in history and cultural remains from the 1600s whaling period. Continue south to explore Gravnesodden in Magdalenefjorden, with interesting cultural remains. Land at Camp Zoe, an old trappers’ hut; take a Zodiac cruise of Lilliehöökbreen, in search of calving ice, before continuing south back to Isfjorden and Longyearbyen.

Day 8: Longyearbyen | Disembark
