Why stay at Tonglen Lake Lodge in Denali instead of a Denali Hotel?
Tonglen Lake is a unique oasis in Denali where our guests can experience the area without the hustle and bustle of tourist activity. We are a small property that is well suited to independent travelers and families who want the space to rest and relax in between their excursions.
What is the best option for travel to and around Tonglen Lake Lodge?
Because transportation services are minimal in the Denali area, we HIGHLY recommend that you organize your own form of transportation prior to arrival. Many of our guests find that a great option is to rent a car in either Fairbanks (2hrs) or Anchorage (5hrs) and make the scenic drive into the area. Renting a car proves to be the best way for our guests to experience Denali to the fullest by giving them the freedom to adventure at their own pace. Alternatively, if you are planning to arrive via train, we recommend that you look into hiring a private touring company like Traverse Alaska who can provide local guides and transportation.
