Ungava Polar Eco-Tours

Ungava Polar Eco-tours is a 100% Inuit-owned and operated company based in Nunavik, Quebec, Canada. It showcases the land, culture, and wildlife of the region through a range of all-inclusive Arctic experiences. During the summer season, it offers 7-day all-inclusive tours departing from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The journey begins with a flight to Kuujjuaq, followed by a short transfer to Tiercel Island, where guests hike to the main site. Over the following days, excursions explore the island and navigate the Gyrfalcon Islands by boat, revealing Nunavik’s diverse wildlife and the world’s largest tides. Wildlife sightings in their natural environment may include polar bears, caribou, muskoxen, seals, whales, black bears, falcons, eagles, and a wide variety of bird species. Meals are prepared by world-class chef Kim Côté, featuring refined dishes inspired by wild, locally sourced, and traditionally harvested ingredients.

During the spring season, Ungava Polar Eco-tours operates all-inclusive custom winter programs ranging from 3 to 7 days. Two main itineraries are available:

The first focuses on northern lights viewing and wildlife encounters north of Kuujjuaq, Nunavik, Quebec. Activities may include observing muskoxen and other Arctic species, building and sleeping in an igloo, or staying in Arctic oven tents, with the option of returning to a hotel in town each night. Helicopter tours are also available for aerial views of the territory.

The second itinerary focuses on polar bear viewing in the wild north of Kangiqsualujjuaq, Quebec, Canada. After arrival from Montreal, guests travel onward by flight to Kangiqsualujjuaq, east of Kuujjuaq. Local guides lead journeys along the shores of Ungava Bay near the fjords of the Torngat Mountains. Polar bears are observed in their natural sea ice environment, offering exceptional photography opportunities, including close movement alongside snowmobiles. Guests stay in established local camps to ensure safety throughout the experience.
