Born from an impulse, Explora emerged with a fervent desire to uncover and comprehend the marvels hidden within the world's remotest territories. Over the course of three decades, they ascended to the pinnacle of exploration, establishing themselves as world-class pioneers. Embracing the inherent compromise of the knowledge they possess, they recognized their responsibility to conserve the territories they traverse.

Today, they firmly grasp this responsibility, taking it upon themselves with resolve and dedication.

History

A group of friends who were enthusiastic about unconventional travel and adventure gave life to Explora. The idea behind the company was to offer journeys in remote areas of South America that were different because of the experience they provided and their intense interaction with nature and local culture. 1993 First came the launch of Explora Patagonia, in the extreme south of America, the center of operations for our explorations in Patagonia, and the only hotel situated in the heart of the Torres del Paine National Park, a world biodiversity reserve.

Purpose

Purpose:

To explore remote territories as a journey to conservation.

Their journey has always had a purpose: to drive conservation through in-depth exploration, building experiential awareness of the magnificence and fragility of these unique territories, and therefore of the urgency behind their protection. The region gifts them with knowledge, and knowledge leads them to even more places and their discoveries. Igniting an endless cycle of deeper connections, deeper knowledge, deeper conservation. Deeper exploration. The key is to go deeper. Always.

Values:

Their commitment is to both the remote landscapes they explore, as well as to the explorers that join them on their journey to conservation.

Five core principles align the Explora team throughout their locations, representing their commitment to both the landscapes they explore, as well as to the explorers that join them on their journey.

-Care for the Journey
-Close attention for travelers
-Pursuit of excellence
-Conservation for the future
-Passion for exploration

Network of Destinations:
Located in remote South America's most prized destinations, they interconnect them in a dynamic network, facilitating deeper exploration and discovery.

Their Commitment

Understanding their destinations so deeply also means loving them, which inevitably awakens the need to protect them. For almost three decades, they have traveled the most remote corners of the South American continent, exploring and constantly learning from what these vast territories can teach them. But they felt that this was no longer enough and decided to go further.

They are committed to being an active force in the protection of the environment, in the fight against climate change, in the care of the people and communities that accompany them in each of the territories where they are. They do this through three pillars for action: environmental, social and economic.

Environmental

Their environmental pillar focuses on sustainable operations and territory conservation. They've established an environmental management system, set ambitious goals for sustainability, and initiated a journey towards carbon neutrality. They've partnered with The Nature Conservancy to address conservation challenges globally, emphasizing collaboration and innovative financing models.

Their commitment extends to travelers, employees, and local communities in the territories they operate. They provide exceptional service and in-depth exploration experiences for travelers while preserving remote territories. Through a Social Management System, they assess and manage their impact on employees and communities. They offer ongoing training and support for employees' professional development and collaborate with local organizations to promote education, environmental conservation, and cultural preservation.
