Founded in 1994, Travel Ethiopia is a private, eco-conscious tour and safari company that introduces you to the many sides of Ethiopia's past and present. What begins in a small room with a few staff members, a handful of vehicles, and a passion for showcasing Ethiopia grows into one of the country's most trusted names in tourism, supported by more than 40 trained professionals.

Led by Managing Director Samrawit Moges, a pioneer for women in Ethiopian tourism since 1981, Travel Ethiopia combines decades of firsthand experience with deep local knowledge. Experienced guides, planners, coordinators, and logistics specialists help you discover Ethiopia's rich history, vibrant cultures, breathtaking landscapes, and remote destinations through carefully planned and authentic travel experiences.

Economic Responsibility focuses on empowering women and local communities. Travel Ethiopia is the first company in Ethiopia to employ female guides, helping create greater opportunities for women while strengthening community partnerships. The company also supports social responsibility initiatives through collaborations with the Meseret Humanitarian Organization, Hope for Women & Children, and WISE (Women in Self-Empowerment). In addition, Travel Ethiopia sponsored the college education of two young men and one woman from the remote community of Turmi, enabling them to return and serve their local community.

Environmental Responsibility remains a priority throughout every operation. Travel Ethiopia has planted more than 300,000 trees in areas affected by deforestation and erosion, helping restore natural landscapes across the country. The company also reduces environmental impact by replacing printed brochures with digital resources, upgrading to low-emission vehicles, and encouraging travelers to minimize single-use plastic bottles by providing large water containers and promoting reusable, non-plastic bottles.
