Nestled beside the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve, Jade Jungle Resort invites you to experience a destination rich in history, nature, and transformation. The property originates in the 1990s as a subdivision created to provide a buffer between future development and the surrounding nature reserve. The original owners establish a private road and build the first cabanas and lodge, known as Pook's Hill Lodge for nearly 30 years. At the heart of the property lies an ancient Maya Plaza, partially restored between 1999 and 2004, offering you a unique connection to Belize's remarkable cultural heritage.

In 2023, Mineral Resorts acquires the property to build upon its strong reputation while enhancing the guest experience. Today, Jade Jungle Resort features upgraded accommodations, expanded amenities, and thoughtfully designed spaces that immerse you in the beauty of the Belizean rainforest. Power From The Sun

Jade Jungle Resort minimizes energy consumption while maximizing the use of renewable solar power. A modern solar array captures energy from the sun and provides electricity for the resort throughout most sunny days, which make up the majority of the year in Belize. Traditional power generation supplements the system only when needed during cloudy weather.

You can support these efforts by turning off lights and fans whenever they are not in use.

Water From the Stream

Fresh water flows year-round from an artesian spring within the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve. The resort pumps this naturally sourced water into holding tanks that supply a gravity-fed water system serving every accommodation and facility. After use, the water passes through multi-stage septic systems before filtering safely back into the ground.

Hot water is produced by burning naturally fallen Cohune nuts collected from the jungle floor, providing reliable heating without requiring additional gas or electricity.

Drinking water comes from the same artesian spring and undergoes filtration and UV treatment to ensure clean, safe water throughout your stay.
Food From The Garden
Jade Jungle Resort grows fresh produce on-site using 50 aeroponic towers capable of producing up to 2,200 plants at the same time. Additional grow boxes and the Secret Garden cultivate crops that are not suited for the aeroponic towers, creating a diverse and healthy harvest.

Any produce not grown at the resort comes from local growers, ensuring every meal features local, sustainable, and fresh ingredients. This approach provides exceptional nutritional value while reducing environmental impact and supporting the surrounding agricultural community.
