The Jade Property: A Brief History
In the 1990s, the Jade property was carved out of the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve to act as a buffer between the reserve and nearby development. The original owners built a private road, cleared the land, and established the first cabanas and lodge, which operated as Pook’s Hill Lodge for nearly 30 years.
At the heart of the lodge is an ancient Maya Plaza, partially restored between 1999 and 2004. In 2023, Mineral Resorts acquired the property to build on the legacy of the original owners. Since then, we’ve upgraded the accommodations and added new amenities to enhance your experience.
