One of the world’s great river systems, the Sepik meanders 1,100 km through Papua New Guinea, nurturing tribes and cultures for millennia along its shores. Dense terrain makes this part of the world largely inaccessible by road. Encounter a truly wild and unspoiled land - increasing in magnificence the further upriver the ship goes. Visit local tribes who have had little contact with modernity, traverse some of the oldest and densest rainforests in the world, and look out for local species including the famed Bird of Paradise. Take advantage of your Papuan contacts to take smaller tenders for reconnaissance voyages up smaller tributaries and rivulets, while returning back after each excursion to the comforts of the Australian-flagged and crewed Coral Expeditions I.
