Marigot is the main town and capital on the French side of Saint Martin. The city of Marigot is perhaps the most French in spirit of all the cities in the Caribbean. Colonial houses stand beside smart cafés and bistros, pastry shops and luxury boutiques, and in many ways it looks just like any of the French market towns you might expect to find in Europe. At the southern end of town by the harbor is Marina Port la Royale. This area includes elegant stores with the latest in European designer fashions and fine jewelry, all duty- and tax-free. The entire city is only four streets wide, so it is very easy to get around. Marigot was made capital during the reign of King Louis XVI, who built Fort St. Louis on a hill near Marigot Bay. Today, that building is the most important in the city.
Optional Activities:

The able and experienced Regatta staff give instructions on how to perform a task and what commands to expect. Previous sailing experience is unnecessary. The Regatta is out of St. Maarten's Philipsburg Harbor, and round-trip transportation is included for all "crew members." Marigot - The Zip-Line Lovers - Extreme: Do you love zipping through treetops? Have you "done" zip-lines before? Did you always feel that the zip-lines were too short or too few? Did the rides always leave you wanting more? Then this is your kind of trip! This one is amazing! After being outfitted at the station at the bottom of the lush valley, an open-air truck takes you on a short drive up, almost to the top of the mountain. Soon you find yourself high above the regular fly-zone down below and enjoying spectacular views of Marigot and the verdant valley. Welcome to the "jungle." A short "practice" zip starts you off. From then on begin to make your way down into the valley along longer zip-lines, with some of them 50 to 60 feet (15-18 meters) above the ground. There are a couple of tightrope walks to break up the zipping but for the most part this is all about the exhilarating fun of zipping from tree to tree.

Marigot - Orient Bay Beach Transfer: Leave the SeaDream pier at Marigot and enjoy a scenic drive of approximately 25 minutes before arriving at one of the island's most beautiful and well-known beaches, Orient Bay Beach. The transfer concludes at the conveniently located central section of Orient Bay Beach. Orient Bay is one of the nicest and longest beaches on the island, approximately 2 ½ km of golden sand bordering the Atlantic Sea. Located on the north eastern part of the island, it is certainly the most animated with all its watersports facilities. Spend memorable time at the beach.
