The Bannister Hotel & Yacht Club

The Bannister Hotel & Yacht Club takes its name from Jack Bannister, an English privateer who in 1690 fought two English frigates near what was then called Cayo Bannister, an island now known as Cayo Levantado and visited by many tourists today. The hotel opened in 2010 as a 30-suite property set between the mountains and Samaná Bay, with views of the surrounding peninsula and marina. It forms part of Puerto Bahía, a marina community on the Samaná Peninsula, close to more than ten undeveloped beaches, hiking trails, and national parks, and minutes from one of the Caribbean's protected marine reserves. The hotel is positioned as a base for visiting multiple destinations within the country during a single stay.
