Thackray House is a country house hotel in Callander, Stirlingshire, Scotland, within the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. The property stands on the banks of the River Teith, a short walk from Callander village.
Thackray House was built in 1625 as a country lodge called Roman Camp for the Drummond family of Perthshire. It became a hotel in 1939 and was renamed Thackray House after a restoration, reopening in April 2026. The house stands on the banks of the River Teith in a 21-acre (8.5 ha) estate of gardens and woodland, with a walled garden, herbaceous borders, and Italian statuary. The pink harling exterior reflects the building’s history, and the interior includes a library, drawing room, and chapel. Callander Village is a short walk away. The hotel states that it buys locally sourced food and biodegradable materials where possible, works with local businesses, farmers, and artisans, and asks guests to reuse towels and linens.
