Using ecologically sensitive materials and a low-impact architectural style, the Rhino Lodge offers guests comfortable lodging on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. Rhino Lodge works closely with the Ngorongoro Pastoral Council, the central governing council of the Maasai, and through this relationship is able to offer village visits. The lodge staff is composed of local Maasai and Iraqw tribal members, adding to the authentic experience on this Tanzania safari. Twenty-four en-suite rooms, each with a private veranda, are simply decorated to focus on the natural surroundings. Marvel as elephants, zebras, and other wildlife roam the grounds.
The main building was the home of Ngorongoro's first conservator, and additions to the camp have been kept in the same style to create a harmonious property. A combination of generators, batteries, and solar panels power the lodge while wood-burning fireplaces/stoves in the common areas and guest rooms take the chill off the night air.

Standard Room
Each room has a compact en-suite bathroom with a hot water shower. Outside each room is a long wooden deck overlooking a stretch of high montane forest. Bright Maasai blankets add a splash of color to the whitewashed walls.
