The building is easy to locate within the UNESCO listed Stone Town and is still owned by the Swahili family of the Arab merchant who built it 111 years ago. It has been lovingly restored to maintain its original charm, and all rooms are appointed in the Zanzibar style with added modern touches to ensure your comfort.

It’s common to hear the returning guests say “Now I’m home” when they once again walk through doors of the hotel. This reflects the friendly and helpful team of local staff, the location and the exotic ambiance of the rooms.

Start your day with breakfast in the shade of the palms of Stone Town Café on the ground floor of the guesthouse. Watch the world go by and soak up the local culture; be it the fish seller passing with his heavily laden bicycle basket, a vendor walking door to door selling brooms and pans, or children on their way to school. 

Rooms

All rooms are equipped with Zanzibari-style canopy beds and full-length mosquito nets. Queen, single and twin rooms are available.

All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with pressurized hot water and are air-conditioned with flat-screen televisions with cable.
Each room also has a mini-fridge, in-room safe and hairdryer. Iron and beach towels are available on request.
