Adventures in Peru -- birthday cake on our Inca Trail trek, visiting children at the Mantay Shelter, celebrations in the Cusco plaza, and making Dead Woman's Pass at 3 month's pregnant. I don't think we'll ever be able to top this Peru trip.

Just returned from an unforgettable couple of weeks in the Amazon -- where Adventure Life is working on a project with the Rainforest Alliance and USAID to strengthen, lend and receive advice from community-owned lodges in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Had the pleasure to spend time with Achuar, Huaorani, Kichwa and Secoya communities.

My 12-year-old daughter, Gabs, and I had an absolute blast in Costa Rica. Beginning in the remote rainforest, continuing to the sunny and sandy Caribbean coast and ending with an awesome adrenaline rush on a Pacuare river rafting adventure. It was a perfect mix for us! I'd do it all again in a heartbeat.

Two weeks in Antarctica with two cherished friends and fellow Adventure Lifers, Julia and Renee; this incredible tour had surprises around every corner. This trip reconfirmed everything I love about travel ... and taught me a thing or two, or ten.

Our Belize trip was most-welcomed. I can hardly think of a better location, a more laid-back atmosphere, a more inviting people or region than Belize. From the moment Aaron and I arrived in the tiny airport of Belize City, I was immediately at ease.

Flat Stanley -- the international phenomenon that encourages school children to expand their geography know-how and explore the world... Joined me on my Antarctica adventure in November.

Teddy Romero, one of our local Peru guides, ran a naturalist workshop for a group of school kids. Adventure Life sponsored 18 kids, ages 8 to 13, from San Borja School of Cusco. Next year we hope to make this number 50. Teddy hopes these one-on-one workshops will be instrumental in teaching local children about conservation in Peru.

Adventure Life celebrates 10 years of providing great travel to Peru, Galapagos, Andes, Central America, Patagonia, Amazon and Antarctica at Montana's Flathead Lake. A beautiful day that stretched long into the night.

The Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco (CTTC) is a non-profit organization established in 1996. During this time, the textile traditions of pre-Colombian Peru cultures in the Cusco region were in danger of disappearing forever. The Maria Guarders School in Ecuador was awarded an Adventure Life Grant for their science lab. Funding went to the following: water and sanitary connections and materials, electric materials and connections, lab implementation materials.
