After flying to Johannesburg on Sunday I continued on Monday, 8/17 to Livingstone, Zambia. The local flights or short hops are interesting to watch. Everyone boards a people mover type conveyance to be deposited outside the plane where the crowd must funnel and climb up the stairs for departure. Once we arrived in Livingstone the plane is parked out on the tarmac and everyone walks a fair distance to the terminal to wait in line for a KAZAVISA which permits entry to both Zambia and Zimbabwe with day trips into Botswana.
Next we arrived at the Royal Livingstone Hotel for 3 nights. The evening was spent on a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River in an area that is part of Mori-oa-Tunya National Park. Sightings of giraffe, hippos, crocs and a young elephant complement a spectacular sunset! As we are driving out of the park to return to the hotel we spotted about 10 elephants feeding right by the side of the road! Too dark for photos but some images are better left to memory...
It is so easy to book trips, the staff is very friendly and helpful and they respond to any and all questions

Mary was super helpful and patient. Answered every question and with candor (answers of “Everything’s equally great” aren’t helpful! 😎).

The trip planner I worked with, Jane, was excellent. She had travelled to Antarctica twice and was the voice of experience as she explained travel options to me. I've travelled internationally for many years for many years for business and pleasure including a number of adventure trips. It is a delight to work with such an experienced planner. I've used Adventure Life for three trips, Costa Rica, Galapagos and upcoming, Antarctica. I highly recommend them.

Clara was great to work with. She presented lots of options and always responded promptly. And she found excellent options within our price range.
